I don’t know what you mean by physical health. Am I in excellent shape? No. But I’m not a beached whale

No but my wife has sciatica. It struck suddenly. She has been to pain management, Chiropractor, Therapy, acupuncture , and massages. Nothing has helped , the doctors say that surgery "might" help. I'm just suggesting that before he takes a lost on vehicles he might want to check his phicial health.
It was a joke from an old TV campaign. No offense intended. But the OP has been quite clear he doesn't need a diagnosis, he knows what is wrong, and since none of us have to bare his pain we shouldn't tell him NOT to trade the Maverick. My wife dealt with it for years before her death. Sciatica is not a joke but I also never felt her pain so I didn't know what she was suffering with.

The Maverick seats suck.
The foam is so thin, anything over an hour drive and I have to use this memory foam pillow to make it tolerable.

Where did you get that cushion? I am looking at getting something because a couple hours and my tailbone screams. had a large tumor removed from the base of my tailbone when I was 19 and it has always been n issue on long drives. the Silverado an hour was about my limit, the Maverick I can handle 2 hours.

To answer the other question I drove the Nissan Murano – a 2017.5 and to be honest they were the most comfortable seats I’ve ever had in a vehicle. The second closest were from my favorite car of the Honda element.
My wife had a 2012 Murano and I have to agree they were very, very comfortable seats.

I just got finished doing a test drive a Volkswagen in their seats are really comfortable. Their gas mileage is terrible though so I didn’t get one of those.
I agree with what another poster previously said about trying to rent any vehicle you're considering next for a day. It's very difficult to get an idea on comfort from just a test drive. Even a 30 minute test drive is no where near the same as using a vehicle for a day or so. The last thing you would want to do is be back in this same situation in a month from now.

I’ve tried to make my seats work and just can’t. I’ve tried almost every thing and the XL seats are extremely uncomfortable. No lumbar support and seat sucks.

This after I did the bed liner and bought a cover

When I post this elsewhere I’m usually met with others telling me their Lariat seats are comfortable. Lariat is not the XL.

So in turn I’m probably going to trade in the Maverick. Never thought I’d be going down this route but I can’t be in pain. I’ve had a Cortizone shot that I had to be given in my hip due to my pain. I’ve had a hip bursitis issue for a while but it was never really inflamed all the time every day until I got the base model. I’ve had to do a whole lot of twisting and turning to get into the car mainly cause I’m on a cushion that’s 2 inches thick so I have to slide my leg underneath it and then bring my foot over and squeeze in and twist and all that. Never thought I’d have to say that but I test her over a Larry odd seat it seemed slightly better even though it’s the exact same foam but I think with the heated seats that could be a help but I don’t know right now it’s just I’m not sure if it’s gonna work. I’ve always wanted a Maverick but the last two months I’ve been hell for me comfort wise. Driving wise I love the handling. I love the way it drives. The speakers suck so I wish those could be upgraded but outside of that. I mean I’m averaging 42 miles a gallon so that should also say something but yeah I can’t drive with pain
I bought a '22 XLT and the 4/5 rung lumbar set from factory but was not enough for me.I ordered the better 7 rung lumbar support and installed it myself.I also shimmed it to my liking and the improvement was vast.I opted out of the electric adjustment and have been happy ever since-do wish the front of seat was horizontally adjustable but you can't have everything(unless you pay for it)

I have no idea.
I got it, a few years ago at my sister's house. A Christmas grab bag. Hadn't had a use for it, till I got the Maverick.

Then sell your Maverick and buy one of those multiple vehicles you test drove that all have better seats ....end of story ....

I recently made a 4.5 hour drive from Phoenix to Las Vegas on probably one of the worst highways in the US. I only got out of the truck once the whole way. Anyone who's made that trip knows what I mean. I have a 2024 XLT. Not the most comfortable seats I've sat in, but I honestly can't complain. And I'm no spring chicken either. I feel bad for you though. I get the same feeling when I buy a new pair of boots that felt great in the store only to find out their first rodeo is probably their last.

That’s the plan. What I would like to do first though is my plan is to trade it in to get my money for it. And then borrow my parents backup car. They’re elderly and they don’t really need two cars so I’m gonna go take theirs. They’ve already told me I could borrow it. And drive that around and go to some physical therapy sessions to get the pains lessoned I hope. And then reevaluate in a couple of months. Of all the seats that I’ve sat in of all the cars that I sat in I would probably say the best seats out there were the Ford Explorer, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota RAV4 but I didn’t feel like there was as much space as I wanted so that wasn’t a finalist but the seats were comfortable, Honda Ridgeline, and both of the Volkswagen’s that I drove today. The Atlas and Tiguan. I do know that the Ridgeline will be coming with a hybrid version next year so I might just wait it out until that comes. But we’ll see. I really wanted a truck and still do, and I really really wanted the Maverick but I guess it’s not to be. I did test drive the latte and it seems slightly better but I know the cushion is the same and I’m just under the worry that if I ended up trading my car in for that that I get the same issues a month down the line or even a week down the line

The one that I am currently using is the royal cushion from the company purple. It is 2 inches thick but at the same time that pushes me much higher than the seat so essentially my shoulders are over top the top of the seat in my head is above the headrest. Since there is no back support it sinks in there. I used to use the back support from purple but that didn’t work and I used another one before that that was really painful. Both of them were 2 to 3 inches thick and we’re pushing me forward in the seat cushion that I was using originally was egg carton foam which was 3 inches and then the royal cushion which is 2 inches so I was being squished on both sides. Now I just used a roll up towel. It’s better than the other cushions but it’s still not doing the work

I also was looking at the Hyundai Santa Cruz which I liked but at the same time you know the reputation that comes with Hyundai’s. So that scares me off. Especially since my first car that I ever bought in my life was a Hyundai Tucson and the power steering blew out on it three times going downhill. Not all the same day but at three separate times. Took it back in they fixed it they extended my warranty but that’s what I had said enough with this crap and traded it in for my Honda element which I loved. There’s one that has like 52,000 miles and I talked to the people who have it on their lot and it was a company vehicle so it was only one owner. They were really happy about it but they were asking $18,000 prior to taxes and tags and all that and I told them they were insane. It was also a 2003. I was not gonna buy a second vehicle that is 22 years old for $18,000. As much as I love the element it’s not worth that at this time

Shaquille O’Neal wanted a new Corvette. Can’t fit. He’s a huge guy.
But, he found a shop that would modify (GREATLY!!) a new ‘Vette so it would work for him. Came out great.
Now, I’m not saying that you should put the kind of bread into new seats that Shaq did. What I am saying is that if you throw enough bread at it (like any problem), you can get the seats that you want. Just gotta find the shop qualified and willing.
It’s out there. Keep looking.
Yeah and when you find those seats buy just one, take it home. Mount it to wood and watch a double feature with yer wife.
If after the movies you feel frisky :’P
Buy the seats.
If ya play it right your wife may pay for the other seat. :p

A little more than seat placement in Shaq's Corvette.
They actually cut the Corvette in two snd stretched the frame 20 in

Most comfortable seats I have recently tried were in the Cadillac Lyriq. Put a down payment on one in January, but then decided it wouldn't suit the kind of driving I do (already had a Tesla and it wasn't suitable either so I dumped it).
Oddly, some have commented that the seats in the Lyriq are the worst they've ever experienced. We are all so different.
I hope you find something you do like and like my Tesla, don't try to put up with something that isn't working. It will drive you crazy.
