It's shocking what an entry level model pickup can be priced at when slapping on just a few extra gadgets and trim. In my mind; if you're paying more than $30k for any trim level of Maverick, you've been had. Once you get above that, there are MANY better equipped, more capable, better materials, better ride pickups to choose from at the same price point.

Well it’s obviously a little overpriced because it doesn’t even have the blackout package on it. You should hit them at $500 less than their asking price. I’m pretty sure they would take that offer.

Are the installed accessories another vehicle? Greed is out of control.

I feel the same about anyone who pays more than $31,000 for the current F-150, which is what its base price was when the current generation was introduced.

Anyone paying more than that has been had and should look at other trucks with higher base prices to justify their purchase.

What other pick up can I get for $38k that has the options of a Lariat?

Needs to have 4A too to match the AWD capabilities of the Maverick.

Oh yeah - I need it to get 37mpg too, be able to tow 4K lbs, and have a payload of almost 1,400 lbs.

Was going to ask if "installed accessories" refers to an XL on a trailer... :D

Has anyone found the $30K list of add-ons? I'm not seeing it.

Doesn't seem to be on their website. I'd want to see details on $1,000 of "accessories," much less another nearly 100% of the vehicle price in add-ons!

I keep forgetting what vehicles cost these days. Just last year I sold an 8 year old F250 4x4 Lariat with 40k miles for over $70k (deceased brother's estate).
I guess I'm basing my expectations on my own frugal, non-enthusiast, practical millionaire mindset. I even balked at the XLT trim package because I didn't think the "extras" over the XL were worth spending an extra $2800.

Sure, if someone WANTS to spend that much money on an entry level model with a higher trim package, go for it. But I think if they want to put on monster-truck tires or something and use it for four wheeling they should just go ahead and buy a Ranger or F-series for $50k instead of a gilded Maverick.

Keep in mind I BOUGHT a Mav, and I am pretty studious about vehicle purchases. At the time of purchase, it was the best thing for the money that met all of my needs for a vehicle acceptably. I would have spent an extra $5k or more for something similar (40+mpg) with a club cab and 6'+ bed, though.

It just gets tiring defending spending money on a Maverick when people say “it’s a $21,500 truck and spending any more is a waste”

When the current generation F-150 had a base price of $31,00 when introduced - so by that rationale spending anything more than $31,000 is a total waste of money.

At $38k there is not another truck available that has 4A, and AWD is a huge selling point.

Rangers with an MSRP in the low $40s have a very small subset of the luxuries that the Maverick Lariat, no 4A, awful efficiency - and as crappy interior materials.

Even though it doesn’t fit what I want… I should buy it and feel better because the base price is $35k and I’m getting “More truck” at $42k.

That’s seriously flawed logic to me.
