yes, the half shaft and CV axle are both names for the entire assembly that is the axle and CV joint. So just to clarify, this pertains to the CV axle boots right?
From what I read in the notice, It's good for 10 years, or 150,000 miles, which ever comes first. What if you are not experiencing front-end acceleration vibration (how bad is it?)? Will this CSP expire at some point or is this open-ended, or will they just replace them on request?

..well except for that notation about this being a 'one time no cost' reference. If it fails more than once and it's still under the drivetrain 5 yr/60k warranty they should be replacing them as often as they fail. From what I read in the notice, It's good for 10 years, or 150,000 miles, which ever comes first.
Let's hope it is not like the battery issue where they continue to replace the defective lead acid batteries with another one just like it instead of the AGM...well except for that notation about this being a 'one time no cost' reference. well, they would, but the issue would be when you're at/near 5y/60k you get 1 CSP replacement and if it is 'used' when instead it could've been factory powertrain, that would be pretty damn annoying...well except for that notation about this being a 'one time no cost' reference. Ah hell yeah lol. I'm not gonna lie, I know it's been frustrating, but I feel like half the truck is eligible for free parts if they fail at this point. Which ironically gives me more confidence in it long term compared to most vehicles which have known issues where you're on your own once the warranty expires.yes, the half shaft and CV axle are both names for the entire assembly that is the axle and CV joint.
I'll be honest, if Ford knows this is an issue that has a high probability of occuring, I do hope this becomes a recall. Something where I can prematurely take it in and have the axles replaced rather than the stress of waiting for them to fail. Ford and other brands have recalled over a handful of cars, or no cars having a particular issue, just because they know it can happen, and want to prevent it from happening. So it's logical imo to recall something like this where the failure rate is so high. You are most likely correct. This is just short of a recall for all models up to 2025
To be fair, dealers replace defective batteries with AGM under warranty now. That's what they did with my '22 hybrid about a week ago. Got it done about 2 weeks before the BtoB warranty expired and saved $250. I've heard reports it's the same deal with CV axle components now.Let's hope it is not like the battery issue where they continue to replace the defective lead acid batteries with another one just like it instead of the AGM.
I had mine replace on my '24 about 3 weeks ago and Ford would only replace with the same battery as I it had in it. Since I had gone through 2 of those crap batteries in 18 months I demanded and AGM but had to pay out of pocket for it.To be fair, dealers replace defective batteries with AGM under warranty now. Just like how any maverick with a battery issue will get a AGM battery provided they have the parts, apparently maverick owners with this issue have been getting better axles when theirs fail.
Please let me know if they replace these for you. Seeing your truck is lowered. My dealer gave me a hard time about looking into a noise I had up front, because my truck is lowered as well.this is a weird/lucky coincidence as I've been noticing some vibration accelerating full throttle 55-70 mph, but it has been a little inconsistent, and I'm coming up on the 5yr/60k factory powertrain warranty.
the CSP solves my problem in that I no longer care as much when my Ford dealership figures out this is an issue, or if they find only one bad CV joint, and the other is ok for now.
I scheduled an appointment on Monday for a works oil change and told them to drive it and use full throttle at 50 mph (they're right next to a 65 mph road, so no problem) to see what they think.
