A few extra bucks - but I’m hoping they’ll greet me by name someday:)
My final tenants did so much damage that I was at Home Depot tool rental so often that not only did they greet me by name when I went in (as well as not having to place deposits, etc.), but when I sent my daughter in to pick something up, they recognized her!. I needed an extra air hose, and they didn't bother charging; just said "say hello to Dr. Hawkins for us."

Although our shop is small, so we may not see everything that’s out there. But I can’t recal

Although I will shop is small, and we may not see every issue like the larger shops, we do see enough to recognize significant issues. And to be honest, I cannot recall us replacing or doing major repairs on any 2023 and up 2.0 ecoboost. If it was a problem engine, we would have replaced or repaired a few by now given the number that come through our shop . Some of the previous generation 2.0 EcoBoost engines in the previous generation escape did have some head gasket issues. But the 1.5 EcoBoost was the worst. Incidentally, the 1.5 3 cylinder used as the base engine in the escape and bronco sport has largely been problems free as well
Thanks, Your opinion means a lot to me since You work at a Ford Dealership.

Not being a HYBRID owner I didn't know this but I thought I should pass it on. Interesting and informative video. Worth a watch.
I didn't know there was an oil made especially for HYBRIDS.

The logic in this video (which I saw when it was originally posted) is sound, but doesn't match up to observed reality. When I sent off oil samples from 2017 Prius, both when doing heavy in-town (achieving an 880-mile tank), and abusive cross-country towing with the engine being wound out for long periods on hills, the oil report showed low wear, on an engine whose averages are below that for other engines.

My counter to his video is that since the hybrid system absorbs shock loading that an engine normally experiences from a starter motor, shifting, TC lockup, etc, that this contributes to less overall wear.

I have a 2010 Prius with 190,00 miles with absolutely no problems using regular Mobil 1 synthetic. I never knew there was any oil specifically for hybrids.

The video is sponsored by Mobil 1, so this needs to be taken into consideration.

Costco sells 6 qts Mobil 1 synthetic 0W-20 motor oil for $39.49

Via mail order Walmart you can get 5 qts Mobil 1 Hybrid synthetic 0W-20 motor oil for $25.97 and 1 qt for $9.12 ($25.97 + $9.12 = $35.09).

When I bought my truck, the dealer recommended to use Hybrid synthetic motor oil. I am on my second oil change using Mobil 1 Hybrid Syntenic.

My son just purchased a used 2017 Lexus ES300h for a Lexus dealership. It has a hybrid engine with a 2.5L ICE and CVT. The sales manager drives a 2013 Lexus ES300h, with 153,000 miles and has had no issues.

While the Lexus ES300h is not as heavy as the Ford Maverick it is not a light weight like the Pirus. This speaks volumes, to me, on the design and reliability of 2.5 L/CVT hybrids.

I. Would like to add a button, lever, or whatever to spray windshield WITHOUT WIPER. Idea being to soak and soften bug juice for awhile before wiping. I could save 2/3 of my wiper fluid but the main reason would be not refilling reservoir as often.
No one ever made that request before. But you'd have to bypass all computers. Without me looking at the wiring diagram, my seat of the pants method would be to have a battery voltage running to your switch, and have the other connect to the power wire of the washer pump. Hopefully that way the module won't realize the that the pump is on and won't turn the wipers on.

Won't hurt. I'm guessing that Ford's motorcraft oil or any that meets the Ford specifications has the correct additives to address hybrid operating conditions. But I imagine oils formulated for hybrids have .a bit more of them

You jogged an old memory from decades ago.

In H.S. Me and a few buddies would have water wars, squirt gun wars basically, using our vehicles.

We'd modify the washer nozzles to face forward and change the tips to add pressure and distance and we'd spray each other's vehicles from our vehicles. We called them "phasers" and yes we were dorks. But cheap, harmless fun.
One guy with a van had an advantage. He could spray water from the front, and rear.

Now how many of you would like this mod for tailgaters?

Not getting your oil temp up above 212 is a problem for all vehicles. And has been known for decades that FREQUENTLY taking shorts trips is hard on ANY engine. This is not news since hybrids have been around for 20 years. In the video it clearly reads on the screen 80-90% of wear occurs at COLD startups, according to Mobil 1. But the dude making the video only said "at start ups" His felt marker graph also shows a hybrids oil temp dropping from 212 down to 140, during normal driving? Doubtful. Normal oil temp is 240. I have driven my hybrid enough to know the engine is never off long enough for the oil to drop 100 degrees, when I am driving around. Parked for an hour yes. The video is mostly true and good info but it is misleading that this is something to worry about if you own a hybrid. There is no pile of hybrid engines that have died because the water did not get boiled off. ✌
This is true, my mechanic used to chide me for the way I drove my Ranger over the years. It's still going, but he'd shake his head and tell me to take it on the goddang highway once in a while if I wanted to keep it running as well as possible.

Thanks. I may do that. It appears that the wiper is about 1/2-1 second later coming on following the spray. Once when I mentioned it to my driveway remote tech doing a module update, he laughed and said he had replaced a wiper motor just before he came to me because it had a 8-12 second delay in coming on. Said he had replaced several wiper motors for that issue. FYI: My remote tech asked to be transferred to the remote job because he was weary of having something torn down in his bay and having to wait for parts and not getting paid to wait. The remote job he gets an escape furnished and paid by the hour.

Our shop doesn't do mobile service. But we do offer pickup and delivery. However, early next month I am scheduled to go to a customer's business who has five or 6 trucks that a recall done that involves a software update. The customer's business is about 100 miles away. And they buy their fleet vehicles from us. So they don't want him to go to another dealership that's probably less than 20 miles from him. 😅

A few years ago, one of our club members had a 70 cadillac that was overheating, but wanted to attend a parade.

He repurposed the window squirt to draw from a jug and spray the radiator, and got through just fine!

My mobile service tech lives about 15 miles north of my house which is 24 miles north of dealership. Once when he called to let me know he was headed my way he said it would take him about 1hr&15minutes to arrive as he was leaving a town north of my house on a mainly 75mph route. Once he called and said he was running about 30 minutes later than the start of his arrival window as he had diversion call to jump start a vehicle (he did not say Maverick 🤗). He drives an escape. The dealership also has at least one gigantic mobile service truck/van that occasionally will be parked in front of dealership probably to advertise availability. Dang thing would probably cost over 100k plus tools, etc.
