6 qt Havoline from walmart

and it meets the hybrid Ford spec
and "70% less plastic"
and pretty cheap
I was going to post that same box as an alternative for anyone that just hates the idea of having extra oil from 5 quart jugs on hand. Quite a bit less plastic waste too than jugs, but they are not always stocked at Wal-Marts unfortunately. Same problem for anyone that would just buy a larger shop pack (12, 20 or 24) quart boxes to buy in bulk and save, and also cut down on plastic waste...they actually cost more at retail price per unit than the 5 quart jugs of whatever from Wal-Mart.

Oh, yes...lure you in on the 5 quart bottle on sale...then slay you with the needed extra 1 quart bottle not on sale and sell to you at full pop...they do it every time.

I buy the appropriate oil in Qt 6-packs by Castrol. I use the leftover oil for Walk behind mower oil changes.

That's fair. Even with their sale I generally find Walmart to be the cheapest option, around $25 for full synthetic mobil1
This I paid $24.97 for the 5 Quart Jug of Mobil 1 10W40 Synthetic Oil at Walmart Yesterday but $8.78 for the extra Quart I needed for My 1989 Mustang with a 466 BBF.

You can't mix oil brands! 😧 It will screw up the additives package and you have to completely rebuild the engine
You can't switch grades either, it'll change the "wear patterns"! ;)

Nor can you add synthetic to conventional oil (remember that one from the 80's) the Earth will stop spinning!!!!

How about buying TWO of the big jugs. Or three. I used to do that. I never bought those overpriced quarts.
At $9-$10 a quart I don’t think so.
Yes, me too. Use all the first 5qt, then almost one quart from second 5qt jug. You're going to use it all anyway in due time.

Shelf life is what ? Five years, ten ?

Great points on expiration dates Lol! How can oil in a sealed container expire? I kept an old 1-qt oil container to use as a funnel. Cut the bottom which becomes fill port. Remove cap to refill thru truck oil fill port. When done replace cap on "repurposed funnel", then seal it in large plastic bag. I've used it for years as a funnel - only new oil ever touches it.

My A.I. says, " Full synthetic motor oil does expire, but it generally has a longer shelf life compared to conventional oil. Unopened synthetic motor oil can last about 7 to 8 years if stored properly in a cool, temperature-controlled environment out of direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Once opened, it can start to degrade within 6 to 12 months due to exposure to air and contaminants. The main issue is the degradation of additives in the oil, which reduces its effectiveness in lubricating and protecting the engine over time. Even if unused, synthetic motor oil loses lubrication properties beyond its shelf life, typically around 5 years for unopened containers and shorter when opened. Proper storage conditions significantly impact its longevity. " Take that info as you will.
