Yeah, I understand where youre coming from. And tend to agree. But, I found UOA's, I mentioned this in the first post, that had oil test at 18 and 24 months and the oil test results were very good.

Just found this one. 1 year and 10 months:

Another one at 2+ years. This Blackstone report also mentions time not being a factor.

I should not have said “probably a hybrid owner” as there are EB owners that argue for long OCIs also. When my powertrain warranty expires - maybe I will go beyond the 6mo/12mo OCI that Ford recommends. Heck, I’m already eating canned foods beyond their expiration date.

Not sure why Ford would do that, given that your truck specifies full synthetic, and the Ford-branded blends don't meet WSS-M2C962-A1. More than likely your dealer is full of it.

Considered "small" or not, the trucks also ship with whatever OEM filter they are specified to have.
Well the filter on mine was small and it calls for a FL-910S which is a larger capacity

Were many test drive miles on it?
Or you think literally just sitting, no moving around on the lot, ect?
Your OLM is likely going to aim for 1 yr since they activated it - was it sitting due to no sale allowed for some recalls? Maybe they didn't activate it until later, in which case it should be late enough into 1 yr the estimate should have changed to time based now.
Just sitting, I got it with 17km at the odometer, no moving around

I have read in my owners manual for2025 Ecoboost 2.0L turbo that the rings should be sealed by 3000 miles, so that is when I will change the oil to full syn.

I am not sure about the 2024 but I just bought a 2025 and was told that ford puts in a blend, and comes with a small filter, I changed out the oil at 700 miles, yep 700 miles, I have always done this on any new engine, get rid of the fines and that small filter...you do want U want but a few bucks give U peace of mind
I agree with the early first oil change, which is the most important IMHO. If any shavings, get them removed early on. My 2025 Lariet Hybrid purchased in April, I changed oil & filter at 1,000 miles using Motorcraft Filter, Mobil 1 full synthetic. Actually saw no appreciable new engine shavings, but brought peace of mind, a price I'm willing to pay.

Bought a new 2024 hybrid and unsure when to do first oil change given the vehicle is over a year old as is the oil. Build date is 8/2024. Some say the factory oil fill is full syn, others say it is a special oil. Dealer says its special and to not worry about "time" and to change at 2500 miles. We drive about 400 miles a month so changing it at 2500 miles would be put the oil at almost 2 years old. Suggestions appreciated.
I think this is generally only a point of concern if you plan to keep your vehicle for as long as possible, ie, hundreds of thousands of miles, and are looking for every advantage to deter future internal engine issues.

If this is the case, oil analysis will generally reveal a first oil change between 500-1000 miles is ideal. Then further analysis to determine "normal" intervals, starting in the 3k-5k range, and adjusting from there.

But if your plans do not include potential long-term high mileage ownership, it will probably be more cost effective to just follow the OLM for the duration of your ownership.

I changed the oil and filter on my 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid at 6,000 mile I’d do it at least annually if you don’t hit the milage and definitely use full synthetic IMO
