those are the exact symptom of a bad cv axle, I had the same symptoms took it to the dealer and they fixed it for free. Other possibilities are engine mount and damper - read up on one of many previous threads i.e. : (62) Vibration in the front end while accelerating | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions
I initially thought the same thing..But let me ask...On your cv axle issue..Did the vibrations subside and then return? Or was it constant? Thanks

upon acceleration from about 35mph and up it would shake, when I was coasting it wasn't there, if i accelerated from coasting it occurred, on decreasing speed it wasn't there, if I accelerated after slowing down it showed up again. None of this should occur - it got worse over time, I dealt with it for about a month (I drive mostly driving so it was only really evident when I got on the xway). At first it wasn't very noticeable and I thought it might be the pavement I was on , after a few other incidents on other smoother xways it occurred and I knew there was something wrong. You sort of get lulled early on into thinking it's nothing but it gets worse and then it gets to the point where you find it unsafe. After I got it fixed and drove it it was so smooth it was just like brand new. They replaced the faulty CV axle and did an alignment - no charge.

pretty common, you're not alone. Other places you took it too may not be assessing the CV axels the proper way (whatever that is), the dealership asked me this specific question : "Do you feel the vibration in the steering wheel or in the front end" I replied in the steering wheel and they said well for sure the problem is with the CV axle. So maybe just grabbing the axle and seeing if there's any play isn't the 'test' . Really, just take it in to the dealer (hopefully you are still under warranty) and have them diagnose and fix it. I guarantee you it will get worse and it might cause some other problems if you let it go too long. It's a half day job.

So I've been having a vibration issue that has seemed to be getting progressively worse. Have had my front cv axles checked by 2 different shops and both say they're okay. 1 shop a friend of mine owns and checked them myself as well and all looked and felt tight. no leaks. I then thought it could be a tire or tires or ftont end alignment but I also noticed while driving up our mountain that when I'm going downhill at speed no or very little vibration but as soon as I accelerate or go uphill the vibration worsens..What are your thoughts forum members and Ford themselves

Bringing your truck to the dealer will be a hassle & expensive for a diagnosis - but Cherokee offers smart advice.

But first, like you, I would ask this forum for thoughts/advice. There are some smart mechanical folks here (not me).

Second, I would check the simple stuff myself. Uneven tire wear/tread depth - seems you already checked. Also, I would jack each wheel off the ground and check for loose wheel bearings. They should not wiggle or have any play. Loose bearing(s) can cause a vibration under throttle. Edit - I would also make sure all lug nuts are tight.

Good luck finding the cause. Hopefully not too expensive to fix. BTW, how many miles on your baby?

Take it to a dealer asap,
And let us know :’P

Personally I wouldn’t drive a vibrating vehicle, maybe you should tow it in ?
You said there is a diagnosis fee for the "thread starter". So even though the truck of the "thread starter" has a warranty still for the engine and tranny, there is a cost for diagnosis? Would like to hear someone or yourself share that experience, they had about diagnosis cost? Been wondering about diagnosis cost.

I have had vibration before and I changed the tires front to back and sound vibration went away. It was a dodge caravan. Then i knew it was tires, but I wasn't going to buy all new tires. I only replaced the two. Worked for very long time

I think most dealers would waive or reimburse the diagnostic fee if the item was covered by warranty. If not covered - they will charge you…

I worked as a Design Engineer and Project Manager on machines that measures and adjust Wheel Alignment on the assembly line. The machines I worked on are currently in use at more than half of the car and truck assembly plants worldwide. Check it out.

I know wheel alignment.

Although your wheel alignment may be off, it's not causing your vibration. The most common cause of vehicle vibration is tire and wheel balancing. A quick trip to a Discount Tire Center is recommended. Before you do that, there is something often missed when investigating a tire and wheel imbalance issue. In the winter, vehicles can get slush splashed on the insides of the wheels (not tires). It freezes and throws off the tire and wheel balance. causing a vibration. Another culprit for this condition is mud. Avid 4-wheels know about this.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

In the past with my 1st run 2020 Bronco Sport
There was never a ‘diagnostic charge’

I’d drop off the vehicle and say, “Take care of this”
Then pick it up, at NO COST what so ever.
Simple.

In Layman’s terms. There is never any diagnostic fee with any warranty work.
Another reason I buy the extended Ford warranty out to 100,000 miles.
I will also trade in before I hit 100K.
$2,000 is mighty cheap insurance.

I don’t know how to say it any clearer or simpler than that.

FWIW I traded in my 2020 BS with 57,000 miles. I got $1,000 back for the balance of the unused extended warranty. I put that with another ‘thou’ for my 2024 Maverick.
Win win.
I hope I never have to use it. If not I will consider the $2,000 a gift to Ford for giving me such a cool vehicle that was trouble free for 100,000 miles.
Zah !

Hey that sounds reasonable to me and thanks for thoughts. I have an existing 2023 and am comparing what ESP warranty would be worth paying for vs. ordering a 26 on order banks. I have 9000 miles on truck and it waiting another year when the 26 comes.

If I keep the 23 then I will use some logic of needing new tires and new 12v battery (about 1000 bucks) to the cost of the ESP on the 23 truck.

Any more thoughts to aid in decision making. I'm waiting for the salesman who sold me the 23 20 months ago to send me price for esp. He was saleman who said buy a warranty for the 23 instead of buying a 26.
