So I've been having a vibration issue that has seemed to be getting progressively worse. Have had my front cv axles checked by 2 different shops and both say they're okay. 1 shop a friend of mine owns and checked them myself as well and all looked and felt tight. no leaks. I then thought it could be a tire or tires or ftont end alignment but I also noticed while driving up our mountain that when I'm going downhill at speed no or very little vibration but as soon as I accelerate or go uphill the vibration worsens..What are your thoughts forum members and Ford themselves

Take it to a dealer asap,
And let us know :’P

Personally I wouldn’t drive a vibrating vehicle, maybe you should tow it in ?

Bringing your truck to the dealer will be a hassle & expensive for a diagnosis - but Cherokee offers smart advice.

But first, like you, I would ask this forum for thoughts/advice. There are some smart mechanical folks here (not me).

Second, I would check the simple stuff myself. Uneven tire wear/tread depth - seems you already checked. Also, I would jack each wheel off the ground and check for loose wheel bearings. They should not wiggle or have any play. Loose bearing(s) can cause a vibration under throttle. Edit - I would also make sure all lug nuts are tight.

Good luck finding the cause. Hopefully not too expensive to fix. BTW, how many miles on your baby?

CV axle issues = vibrate when accelerating. Again, only during acceleration. Take it to the dealer for warranty service - 5 yrs/60k miles powertrain, or if you have extended warranty.

If you have vibration while not during acceleration, then it is not related to CV axles.

Like others mentioned, get it to your preferred ford dealer and have them check it out fully. Your still within the power train warranty. While the symptoms do match up with the common cv axle issues reported here, but for whatever reason, its pretty rare to see that issue reported on the ecoboost - but certainly not impossible, the majority with the common cv issues are with the hybrid, so very strange. Plus if they have been checked ok by all the places you mentioned, how could they all miss it? Numerous items are possible suspects: motor mounts, transmission, bearings, heck even bad plugs, clogged filters... Let the dealer figure it out asap. Good Luck and keep us posted on results

Free advice:
Rotate the tires, front to rear
And drive it and see if the vibration persists

Are both front tires identical brand & age? Again, good luck!
Yes they are..I bought the truck used from a chevy dealership and when looking up replacement tires these may be the original ones..I was told I need a front end alignment so I was gonna take it in for that and probably get a new set of tires as well...But wanted to come here to see what others may suggest

is this AWD? and you can often get a free alignment inspection at les scwab, and definitely look at wheel balance from a good shop.

Vibration under load only. Possibly something from the torque converter on back in the drive train. Is this truck AWD or FWD??
