There's an extended warranty on the axles for 22-24 Mavericks as this is a very common issue. As a mechanic at a Ford dealership, we were able to get a pair next day from Ford just a couple of weeks ago. This dealer is definitely screwing you over.
but...why? Doesn't make sense they'd let them have the loaner for another 6 weeks - that doesn't do the dealer any good when in the end their only profit is going to be from the warranty work when they finally come up with the axles. What do you think the game would be here?

O/P has a 4 year old Maverick with 40K miles on and is shocked that Ford won't buy it back - but they are fixing it at no charge and provided a no-charge loaner that you did not want due to a restriction on use, then they give you a different loaner that you don't like because you cannot access it easily....if you are looking to get rid of it, did you go out to the front of the house and see what kind of deal they can make for you to get you out of your old Mav and into a new one? Or, did you just sign up here on the 23rd of this month to complain about it?
Dealer would probably say well we can't really make you an offer since we can't do a full road test in that the darn thing shakes so much....or something like that. But, yeah, they can at least pose the question, if they give them a legit offer then the OP can go and buy.a Mav that is probably at least $8k more than they paid for the one they have. They just need to wait til it's fixed, likely the axles will show up sooner and by mid June they'll be on the way. Being reactionary and selling it at some big discount and then buying another one (if you can find a new hybrid on the lot...) for much more than they paid for the original one = not a great idea.

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else is having the experience I currently am having. My vehicle - 2022 Hybrid - was have a really bad shudder going uphill using the accelerator and when I brought it to the dealer it turns out both right and left axles are bad. They further informed me after 2 days that the vehicle is unsafe like that as they're really bad and they'd give me a loaner.

The loaner was a 2026 Maverick BUT I WASN"T ALLOWED TO USE THE BED (WHY HAVE A TRUCK) AND WASN'T ALLOWED TO GO MORE THAN 50 MILE RADIUS FROM THE DEALER. I live 22 miles from the dealer! I asked to have it changed as I needed a bed or worst case trunk, so now I'm in a 26 Bronco full size - not ideal for me a 5'5" 62 year old and my 80 year old husband.

Further I'm told my vehicle won't be ready until July - and no date can be given - because parts aren't available.

I've been on the phone with everyone - Ford Corporate. I requested they just buy the vehicle as I really don't want it back after this and this long.....they refused. It's been in the shop since April 27th - I can't drive it as it's unsafe.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this.....at this point I'd like to simply get rid of it. It only has 40,300 miles.

I thought a dealer/manufacturer couldn't legally keep your vehicle waiting for parts more than 30 days.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
I am really sorry to hear that the parts needed to repair your truck are not available. I had the same issue at 29, 385 miles. However, I dropped the truck off at the dealer about 8:30am on a Tuesday and they delivered it to me the next day at 3:30pm. All covered by Ford.

Exactly! No dealership would voluntarily LOAN a cu4a vehicle for 6 weeks unless they absolutely HAD to. They're not going to loan a vehicle simply because they don't want to install axles on a simple Maverick. Just because parts were available 3 weeks ago doesn't mean they're available TODAY. We've gotten a part on Wednesday. But needed the same part again on Friday, and it was on backorder.

Interestingly the recall for extended warranty on the 22's, didn't start with the production start date.

Sounds like they did use a better one initially, then resorted to what you got.
And either found a new one or went back to the prior one.

There was a thread on that extended warranty recall - and no early 22's posters were found to get info on their CV axles for a compare.
Finally got to this… I have early 22 build (Oct. 2021) which pre-dates the Dec.2021 cutoff of the recall. Here are the parts I have installed:

LH - Driver: NZ67 3B437 AAB ( HAMTA21250013206 )
RH - Pass: NZ67 3B436 BAB ( HAMTA21239220607 )

Hoping MTC sleuths can verify if these are somehow different that would validate exclusion from the recall.

Well, would need to find some original 22's in the recall range as to what they had and picture.
My searching not going so good for that. One thread.

Front axles for AWD and FX4 as of 2024 posts.

So even newer was same major part #. Yours made 2021 week 23 & 25 it appears.

But even a compare to a 22 in the recall range part number - may not be useful.

Ford has been known to slap the exact same part number label on a clearly different part when that part is total replacement.
Happened to the hybrid 12V battery - the early BXT-99RT4-A made in Spain or Mexico with 390 CCA was replaced with a clearly better one with 470 CCA with the same label part number on it.

The factory line box shipment of your CV axles could have been replaced with the next load - and slapped with the same labels for builds continuing until 2024 when they came back out.
Or you got even more special ones deemed too overbuilt and expensive at the time!

Perhaps someone else will find the old threads giving those part numbers/pics for them.
