Had 9 days on the first tank of gas. Could have gotten another 4-5 days if I hadn't done a one hour trip to a friend's birthday party. I liked the chime and warning screen saying I had 50 miles to go before I was out of fuel. The trip computer had 27.2 mpg, which I would have loved. However, with my trusty notebook and calculator it was actually 26.5 mpg.
I had mixed emotions on that. While trip computers tend to be optimistic I hoped maybe that would have been more accurate. I came out of an Elantra and was getting 30-33 mpg all the time. I've spent quite a bit of time letting the engine run as I was at the touchscreen trying to figure things out, such as radio presets and safety systems. I figure give the engine time to season up a bit and perhaps the 2.0 liter Ecoboost will be bit less thirsty. I also must concede I'm in a taller vehicle, have an open truck bed in back effecting aerodynamics, have all-wheel drive, and an engine giving me 100 more horsepower than what I'm used to. 238 horsepower is the most powerful vehicle I've ever owned. 30-33 mpg to 26.5 mpg is probably a reasonable trade-off. It sounds like 27-28 mpg isn't unreasonable if I don't have a heavy right foot.
