I wonder if fuel economy will go up after ICE breakin? And the first oil change?

I really should use eco mode more but I never think about it. I average around 50mpg unless I do a big elevation climb but still average 45.

Those are very good numbers. Its tough to get over 50mpg. I have to go back way pr cruise town roads and recover energy. I run ECO as soon as i can and try to stay in there as long as possible and depending on traffic.

I filled up today, @Sunoco for $4.14g, definitely a personal high on the electric miles and %. Check out that miles to empty, i had 30m till empty, so probably could have 740mpt? I am getting better at driving hybrid in E mode.

That's awesome.

This will be my first hybrid. Is there any downside (besides effort and speed) to using the battery so much? Like, will it wear out faster?

The batteries should last, the other Ford hybrids are good for 200000-300000m. After a little while battery mode will still pull, I use mine at 65mph, which is about the fastest I drive. It runs fairly long at 55mph. I have started watching how far I drive before ICE kicks on. Theres a couple regular paths were I can get ~4m, before I finally run out.

Then I go go to hybrid and catch the next hill, its a little more difficult these days for the temperature has hit 109, so the AC which is driven off the BECM, pulls some good juice that I lose for propulsion.

Heres the latest/next 700m tank, no signs of a defective battery cable here. Loving it @$3.52g.

Yes, you can fill up the fuel tank above the listed amount, but I believe if you read the manual, you are not supposed to top it off. Likely due to the whole pressurized fuel system.

Personally, I set the fuel pump to the lowest flow setting and let it fill until it stops, then remove the nozzle and record the info into my CarIQ app as the in-dash computer is never accurate when it comes to MPGs.

Yeah, my latest fillup: dash 'puter said 46.8 mpg, but gas station fuel pump and my calculator said 41.7 was the more accurate number. 12% error is about the worst I had on my C-Max also.

I had 15m less electric mode from last tank, i should have done better. Well theres the next tank, see if i can keep my string of 700mpt going.

Heres my latest fill up, $3.31, RUG, 108° today, my E mode was down as i had to ride the highway a few times for about 80m more then usual.
If you add the mte + miles used =699.9mpt close!
