I have a leer hf650m, got it on sale from amazon, I really like it. it was a little finnicky to install, but probably because this is my first tonneau cover for my first truck. It feels sturdy, folds up and doesnt block the third brake light, and can be locked in either vertical, or 3/4 open position.

That roll up one seems nice too, the leer is so easy to fold up that its just not a huge deal for me.

IMO it boils down to your own preferences. To me the auto retractable covers, it think, will take up space inside the bed. (For ME), i chose the tri-fold - Undcover Ultra Flex on my MY22. Been very please, zero issues/problems. I'm sure there are other quality mfg's that are very similar to it. Just be cautious, some of the cheaper ones labeled tril-fold actually use that term loosely.... Good Luck on your decision

I also went with a $300 trifold hard tonneau. It's nice to be able to stand on it, or in my case, tie some heavy bulky s*it that doesn't fit in the already full bed on it. And because it's not very expensive, I don't worry about it getting hurt.

No complaints so far, fits perfectly

I've had the Bison flip-up hard trifold on two trucks now, and will get another if this truck ever gets wrecked. I got mine for $575 factory-installed in Toronto, including taxes. I think they're now $650, but still half the price of the competitors with the same design.

I had the same dilemma, in the end I didn't want a retractable because all the water and junk that's on it goes into the canister when you open it ... I figured that would get gross over time ... Also takes up more bed space and looked difficult to remove.
Tri-folds looked like a good choice, but I don't like how the flip-ups completely block the rear window when they're fully open
In the end I went with the OEM hard roll-up (Bak Revolver) because it doesn't have the drawbacks of the other 2 designs, and also it locks down along the entire length of each side. So far it's exactly what I was hoping for. And it can be removed in a few minutes if I really need 100% need length.
I think it might be over your budget? I wasn't in a hurry, lucked out and found a "very lightly used" one for less than half price

I have the Synectic manual retractable. So far it's great for my needs. The canister takes up some space, but otherwise it's great. The tracks are nice to have for mounting racks and the cargo stays dry. I use the bed to store kayak stuff so it's nice to have it lockable.

I bought the SyneticUSA retractable bed cover and couldn’t be more pleased. It looks/works great! While not completely waterproof, some amount of water does get in at the car wash but it is minimal at best. I’m very pleased with my decision.

I had researched several & ordered the Truxedo Sentry hard roll up tonneau cover. It fits great, looks great & is watertight. It leaves the entire bed accessible.

The huge tariff costs make crossing the border very unpalatable. Take a trip up north and pick one up while you're there.
