I didn't know it was getting bright when engine running on till someone told me, it's so faint, just light the whole engine up. Also what's the green Ready, it's always Ready, for what?
Ready means the truck is "started", vs being only in accessories mode

I guess it means "ready to drive"

I find the Power Gauge useful to help me understand when my Maverick is charging vs. using power, but the slight change in the intensity of the engine icon at the top of the Power Gauge is not a very good indicator of whether the ICE is running or not. Maybe I am spoiled by the quiet running of my Lariat.
I don't know if Ford engineers monitor this forum, but if they do, I am asking for a software update that would make it obvious on the Power Gauge when the ICE is on or off. Some options would be to change the color, perhaps add an indicator within the icon, or simply only turn the icon on if the engine is running and off when not. If they do make the change it could be pushed out to hybrid owners.
Thoughts of other hybrid owners?
I had my Maverick two weeks before finding out it had a fake engine noise. o_O

Ford has done a very poor job at providing any useful status information on the hybrid system. I would have much appreciated something more like Toyota offers to know how and when the system is working and how to utilize it's potential.
Acyually my wife has an Escape hybrid and it is very easy to understand. It says combined when engine is running and electric when its not.

Agree Completely!
The Lariat has settings for the screens on the hybrid. One of them shows when you are running on electric power or hybrid gas power. It show what percentage you are using of each at that time. It is kind of a coach for you to learn how drive with it.

I've only had my Mav for a month or so, but unless I'm alone on the road, I don't bother with slow acceleration to keep in electric mode, I instead use hybrid to get up to speed, back off a touch, then go steady on the pedal. If I've got any juice in the battery, voila, electric mode.

THAT SAID... I wish there was a bit more "float" in the software to allow for a wee bit more acceleration in electric mode. Anything more than a creeeeeeping acceleration, whether from 0 mph all the way to 50+ mph, and hybrid will kick in. One has to have the lightest of pedal touches to keep a steady speed in electric, and any incline will start bleeding speed that's nigh impossible to return to without kicking into hybrid.

I fully appreciate why the design is like it is, but it's also a simple fact that the hybrid really gives a driver incentive to play the "stay in electric as long as possible" game. As one who traditionally enjoys going quite fast on the road, I'm actually genuinely shocked at how much stupid mindless fun that can be had while driving in traffic, it's like Ford handed me the world's most expensive fidget spinner! But now that Ford gave me the game, I just wish they made it a little easier to play it...
Be glad you have a 25MY!
You get up to 15% reports sounds like.

Now try keeping it to 10% to know what pre-25 drivers get to have.

And ya - going to get best Miles per gallon actually getting some miles, not wasting the whole battery on acceleration only and then needing ICE charging when you could be moving faster in EV mode.

The 25MY has fake engine noise?
You sure about that?

Lobos for sure. Maybe Tremors in certain drive modes. Most do not. Seriously doubt any hybrids do.

Ya, poster was hybrid driver - so likely the normal confusion of reading other posts and not realizing difference in models.

But then I realize 25MY could be doing hybrids different too, but never heard that from any of the regular 25 crew yet.

24MY doesn't even do sounds for Sport mode that I can hear, sound difference in RPM's matches the gauge readings and log files. (in OBD data in case someone else is wondering)

Probably taking about the fake engine noise coming out the front bumper as pedestrian warning sound, not fake engine noise being piped into the cabin ...

That must be thought to be one wild engine if someone thinks that is fake engine noise!

Now that I've wondered if it's gotten louder on 25MY.

Frankly it's barely noticeable on 24MY when actually standing outside near truck coming/going.
Had friend driving his at different speeds in parking lot up to the 20 mph - no road traffic around, no high winds, have excellent hearing - barely noticeable. Wish I'd logged my sound meter, since it is supposed to hit a certain level.

Inside the cab - the motors are louder when spinning at a decent RPM.

As I was slowing to make my turn down the gravel road I live on I noted the low speed warning sound seemed to be noticable around 18mph-ish. Somewhere between 15-20mph is where it sounds like it is making racket.

I hear a motor sound as soon as I shift into Drive. (The dash will say I am on electric power.)

With the Lariat windshield, it is hard to know when the ICE is running.

My 22 lariat hits a good level but cannot compare to a 24. Have to be outside to hear it due to the lariat windshield. I am high frequency deaf both ears plus Tinnitus (thank you Vietnam) so I can hear most of it.
