Thank you. I have watched a lot of videos on YouTube trying to get an idea of how big an inverter I could use to supply AC power during power outages. I am also planning on buying a gas or LP fueled stand alone generator. The inverter would just be a backup. Definitely don’t want to oversize and blow a vehicle fuse or smoke the dc to dc inverter.

A really good standalone generator/inverter costs $1000 or less btw. I got an inverter that's propane/ gasoline 5500 peak 3500 continuous power. If you run propane through it, no need to even clean it out to be ready for next use. Just change the oil as recommended.

I got this one a year ago for $600. Rated for camp grounds, so it is very quite. I did have to buy a cord to convert the TT-30R plug to three standard 120V outlets. I have only run propane so far.
