I was a GM guy in the 60s to the 90s, and then I started working for FoMoCo. Thus the change of opinion. I just love experiencing the difference of these two moments in time.

Many years ago I had a 67 Camaro which I sold (for $950.00, which I thought was a great deal at the time!) when our first son was born. Wishing I still had that car ever since.

Cool. I have a 2022 XLT, Carbonized Gray Maverick and used to have a 1967 Firebird 400. Also a 68 Mach I & 65 Fastback K Code 289.

Your Firebird looks gorgeous!

I hear your story at every car show I attend. I had no intention of keeping this car beyond ten years, but as years passed and nothing was going wrong with it, I just kept going with it until 2017 when I had the paint refreshed and the vinyl top replaced due to some cracking. The drive train and interior are original, chrome is original except for the rear bumper. A spot of chrome had peeled.
