I would hate to think my Maverick was taken out by air bubbles.

I know it's a different vehicle but it was a big deal with the Smart car.
Having the radiator up front and the engine in the back was a pretty long run.

If so the fix is simple and since you didn't excessively drive it while in that mode you should be fine - you also have the warranty so you're covered but, yeah, what a drag....

My guess the cooling fan was unplugged when they worked on it and not plugged back in.With the engine being stone cold it probably took 10 miles to warm up and then the Fan didn't come on. My Niece had the same thing Happen with Her Kia it over Heated after it was worked on and the cooling fan connector wasn't plugged in.

Maybe a sensor failure or sensor not plugged back in?

I'm guessing Cooling Fan.

My guess the cooling fan was unplugged when they worked on it and not plugged back in.With the engine being stone cold it probably took 10 miles to warm up and then the Fan didn't come on. My Niece had the same thing Happen with Her Kia it over Heated after it was worked on and the cooling fan connector wasn't plugged in.

The fan was running when I checked under the hood.

The new gauges are a PITA to read, but if I'm seeing the temp indicator on the left correctly, it looks fine and totally in range.

Update: The temperature icon is red instead of its usual white though the needle is clearly in the middle of the temp zone. As shown in the photo.

I picked up the pickup yesterday and was told the coolant was low. When I looked, the reservoir was between MIN & MAX. I would assume the tech forgot to add coolant before I picked up the truck or failed to burp it?

I only saw two reservoirs under the hood that day, though it was hot and I was upset. One has green fluid in it and the other is pink. I put 70 miles on the truck to check it out and it seems fine now.

So the truck was not repaired properly. You were upset. Don't blame the tool, blame the fool.

The Ford WSS-M97B57-A2 coolant for these trucks is yellow. I would not be too happy with this repair shop from the sounds of it.

Coolant should be a yellowish green in both reservoirs. I've had warranty work where the system was drained and it did take quite a while to get all the air bubbles out of it. It was several thousand miles. I/dealer topped it off. If you have two different color coolants in there, it would flag me to wonder if somebody knew what they were doing with the repair. Something was obviously drained since the factory.

Wonder what the chances are they did a complete flush of all the lines and passages, bypassing all the thermostatic valves to prevent incompatible coolant mixing on both systems, while simultaneously changing out the coolant to the wrong stuff in both systems for absolutely no conceivable reason...

Yes, looks like they forgot to burp it.

yes, I agree. Not surprising that they didn't get all of the air bubbles out.
But two different colors of coolant concerns me...... I'd have them double check that the correct coolant is at the correct level.
