I agree with Doug how it's somewhat a disappointment how Ford didn't hop things up a little more in the engine department. But at the same time, like with any other Maverick, Ford probably figures the aftermarket can take care of that. Which it will, and already has been!

I see two complaints, one wants more power and the other says its too expensive. wouldnt giving it more power make it even more expensive. pretty sure even if it had a bigger engine people would say "oh you could just tune the 2.0 and get the same power for less cost."

Want a little more power out of the 2.0? Run 91 Octane, the engine loves it.

I've been running it almost since day one for the so called "lugging Issue" and will never go back to 87 octane.

I had a '96 Miata with a supercharger and then a DIY turbo and I loved that thing. Strangely getting the Mav has made me think about that car more lately, I took it thru some twisty roads a couple of weeks ago and its like the little truck wants to be a miata.

Absolutely, though the 2.3EB would bring 300+ HP without adding a lot of weight and have negative effect on handling.
