I just had the ACCM update done at a large and well-trained dealership, and it took just under 3 hours plugged in to the OBD2 port, including multiple update failures. Depleting the battery for that long could be a serious issue.
“3 hours, and multiple update failures” did they say why they had update failures?
I think I will wait until I get more positive feedback about this update.

Exactly! I've had it happen with the vehicle AND with my laptop. Sometimes even a 5 minute update doesn't act right. The laptop freezes. The Internet connection becomes unstable, etc. when try to address those aggravating issues, sometimes time gets away from us. The 5 minutes turns into 30 minutes. . We finally solve the issue, But next thing you know the entire update stops because the battery power is too low. Now we have to attempt to recover the module because it's half programmed. That could take additional time. The module may be unrecoverable. All that could have been prevented by connecting a battery charger in the beginning. 😅

Juse got my software update on
From a Ford mechanic regarding the Maverick battery drain

"Hey just wanted to let you know that it looks like Ford finally released a software update to fix the battery drain. It looks like I was correct in saying it's the same issue as the Mach-e. It's a software update for the ACCM (air conditioning control module)"

It's not what you think it is.
Me being a bit critical of Ford taking so long to fix a software issue, but I'm open to what you think it is.

From your comment you think it's a fix for the deep sleep and battery saver features, the long term problem going on for 3 years.

As it states - it's a fix for an intermittent parasitic draw that drains the battery, likely to dead. (hence them checking the it since that will ruin a battery)
Here's hoping they got the only parasitic draw! (they didn't)

That's what I mean it's not what you think it is - It's not a fix for the questionable charging strategy that eventually leaves the battery badly undercharged that allows it to die faster.

I personally believe both problems are the same. The deep sleep is likely a lesser version of the same problem. The battery partially drains but not fully. And the battery monitor sees the rapid drain and believes the battery is old and nearly worn out, so it go into deep sleep after seeing even the slightest drain. Resetting the battery life monitor usually fixes that problem TEMPORARILY. So this update will likely fix both problems because ford has us to reset the battery life monitor regardless of whether we need to replace the battery or not.
