Has anyone who has a 2025 Maverick XLT been locked out? Last week I visited a farmer. When I got out to talk to him, he told me to go to his other shop building. I had closed my driver's door with the engine off, and doors unlocked. When I came to get back in, the driver's door was locked, but not the other 3! When I came to leave, I had unlocked my doors to put stuff in. I had the keys inside. I went back to put more in and found that all the doors were locked! Called my salesman and asked what to do! He didn't know! Then he called back to tell me a phone number where Ford could come and unlock my doors! It would have been great if I had been able to use FordConnect in my FordPass app, but I spent a couple of hours trying to get the authorization to come up on my screen, but to no avail! Still don't have it! Also, I have the park brake come on SOMETIMES when I stop, other times no! I've had to make extra door keys for my billfold and my wife's purse to keep this from happening (the doors)! It seems that the onscreen operator's manual isn't for this Maverick, because I couldn't find the rear window lock by the manual description! It was on the door! Also saving favorites on the radio had poor description! Wrong manual, too? Wow, not even 1000 miles!

Your 1st lock was you pushing the lock lever when you opened the door. Yes, really.
Why it was only your door.
Careful with that - find all sorts of threads on accidentally doing that.

2nd lock was keyless entry auto-response it's being discovered for MY25 - different than prior MY's.
If you leave keys in truck, running or not, and get out - it assumes you made a mistake and protects you by locking the doors after a time limit.

Here's a tester's thread. Pages 1 & 2 the useful ones mainly.

Please share your tale there, mainly part about it not running.

Yikes!

So they removed the staple Ford Keypad on the door and enabled a feature that locks the doors with the key inside😵

That is just brilliant... NOT! Locking the vehicle with the keys inside... Running or not. I would say this is a half baked idea that got into production, but it is pretty clear it is still a dough ball... Never been near an oven.

Heybales has accurately covered the locking issues.
The random parking brake issues. The Maverick and probably all newer Ford models, will automatically apply the parking if parked on a slope. I think it will come on on a slope up or down at around 5degrees or more.

for under $30 ford can make you a valet key, put it a magnetci key holder and hide it somewhere on the vechicle.
it won't start the car but you will be able to open the door.

My locksmith gave me a metal door key at no charge, when she cut the spare fob keys I bought on eBay.

I have had similar experience with the drivers door locking but all others remain unlocked. I read about bumping the lock button and even though it doesn't seem all that easy to do (I think driver size changes the possibility a little), but recently I got out of the truck and was milling around near the drivers door and heard it click, locked. All other doors remained unlocked.

I have a 2024 Hybrid that does the same thing. I have taken a piece of metal and blocked off the lock switch on the door so that I can not hit the switch accidentally and yet the door magically locks. It also only locks the driver's door.

There is more than one way to lock the door, inadvertently or otherwise.

Remember Russ...you are NOT bumping the lock "button"....you are pressing in the lock "lever" (as circled in the pic above)on the driver's door only. Two different things. Search all the threads on here about "doors locking automatically" :)

Your response is the post right above.

Don't worry about trying to prove it - you can't.
Just read all the other threads on the matter when the poster comes to the realization they actually did what the majority are trying to tell them they did.

This accidental locking has happened to me one too many times. It made me buy a 3D printer and come up with a solution

While there are many threads telling about the keyless start button on the Lariat and it being easier to steal it also makes it easier to NOT lock the keys in the Maverick since they stay in your pocket. Mine will lock the doors after a certain period of time if the key fob is not nearby.
My 25 will not lock itself after any amount of time😉
No matter where my key fob is.

I guarantee you NO ONE is locking themselves out of the truck by accidentally pushing the “button” with the lock symbol that you have covered on the right side of that picture. it is 100% the lever on the left. 😎
