this is what I think happened to the guy that heard a crack when he got on his tailgate.A Side note>>>

I was 250 and sit on the gate every day while my dog runs and plays for a hour or so dont know why you want to stand up their, its very low and easy to sit on not like a F150 but have climbed in their also a few times, I have a home made cane I leave in their for reaching in the bed to get stuff with a hook on it because I have a cover on the bed.Thank you! A friend of mine has one and it felt really squeaky that I was scared to. Can't wait to own my own!!
I would not worry about it. I am 6ft 4 and 270 and never hear a groan.I am a big girl. 300lbs (trying to lose but that's beside the point) and I just have to know - what's the weight max for climbing into the bed (the pressure on the tailgate)? Please don't try to attack my size, I don't like it either. It happened before I realized it, but while I am working on it I just want to know if I can stand up there - or climb on it - without denting/bending it. Thanks....
I don't think that's correct. I think, just guess actually, that the tailgate itself would flex before the cable would stretch.Well the other curveball here is that some (many?) of our tailgate cables are not the same length, so you have more (all) weight on just one when the tailgate is down with no weight on it. That is until the shorter cable stretches to the length of the other longer cable.....
