I will try your suggestion just to see if it works. And thank you for giving me information not replying "you're wrong". Personally buckling the seat belts then unbuckling to use them seems more bother than it saves. I agree the pop up is annoying but in the grand scheme of things not as much as having to unbuckle the seat belts if a passenger is getting in the vehicle.
Once again, I think it's really what works best for you. I have only ever had three people in my rear seat over 15 months and I have to move the dog canvas before I carry a passenger anyway. If there are people regularly back there, the use case is different.

Drawing on insights from Maverick newsgroups, owner forums, trade publications, and official Ford resources, here are some useful tricks, tips, and hacks for the Ford Maverick.

Got another one? Disagree with something? Please comment... YMMV
— General Driving Hacks
  • Reverse Camera for Precision Parking
Use the reverse camera when pulling into your garage. Stop when you see the garage slab lip appear over the bumper, ensuring maximum space in front and safe clearance for the garage door.
  • Infotainment System Reset
If your infotainment screen freezes or Android Auto malfunctions, hold the radio power on/off button and the skip track forward button simultaneously to force a system reset.
  • Auto Park and Brake Release
You don't need to manually shift into Park before switching off the ignition. The Maverick will automatically shift to Park when you turn the vehicle off, even if left in Drive or Reverse. You don't even need to turn the car off. As long as the car is stopped, if you open the door, the car will automatically shift to park.
  • Auto Hold Feature
Engage the Auto Hold button (if equipped) to keep the vehicle stationary at stops without keeping your foot on the brake. Pressing the accelerator releases the hold.

    — Fuel Efficiency and Hybrid-Specific Tips

  • Maximize EV Mode (Hybrid)
To stay in electric-only mode as much as possible, accelerate slowly and use cruise control. Once at speed, back off the cruise control by 1–2 mph to encourage the hybrid system to use battery power. Modulate the accelerator to keep power usage at about 10% or less for extended EV driving.
  • Optimal MPG Driving
Owners report achieving close to 60 mpg by cruising at 40 mph or less and using gentle acceleration. Averaging 45 mpg is possible with careful driving.

    — Comfort and Convenience

  • Sound System Improvement
Enhance the base sound system by switching the sound mode from 'passenger' to 'driver' and adjusting the balance to favor the dashboard tweeters. This tweak can noticeably improve audio quality.
  • Seat Warmer as Food Warmer
Use the passenger seat heater to keep takeout food warm on the drive home. Secure the food with the seatbelt to prevent spills.

    — Tech and Customization

  • Disable Automatic High Beams
If you find the automatic high beams activate too readily, you can temporarily disable them by pulling the turn signal lever towards you while the headlights are on. Permanent deactivation can be done through the vehicle settings in the screen menu.
  • Backup Camera Zoom
When using the backup camera, tap the "+" icon in the upper left corner of the screen to switch to a straight-down view—useful for hitching assist or parking.
I find that the auto hold is convenient for drive thrus and grid lock.

How do you use the backup camera when pulling into your garage?
Paint a bull's-eye on the floor or a horse shoe to locate your hitch receiver. I have a ball hanging from the ceiling that almost touches the driver's door window glass about 2" from the front side of the glass.

No disrespect here, but if the rear seat is buckled and unoccupied, you will never even see the seat belt nanny on the dash so long as you are buckled in ( try it). If the rear seat is unoccupied and not buckled you will see the nanny even if the front occupants are buckled in. Yeah, I know it goes away with no action. However, it does cover the screen for other actions I might need/want to "OK" before driving. It also makes the driving mode harder to see when selecting each time you drive if you don't use Ford's default mode. I usually use "slippery" or "Eco" mode.
I never look at screen when setting mode, I just count the pushes.

If you have a hybrid and change your own oil, you can force an engine start (idle leak check) by leaving it in Park and stomping on the accelerator. This should be in the manual, for cryin' out loud.
You can switch the drive mode to Tow/Haul and that keeps the engine running and doesn't allow for EV mode until you change to another drive mode.

Not the same thing as the original post.
And no it does not.
Tow/Haul stops the engine if the wheels are not turning.

Huh???

Left and right seat heaters are on separate switches and each have three power levels.

Not really powerful enough to heat food, but would slow down the process of already hot food cooling off.

Get into early habit of opening door handle BUT pushing door open with knee.

It avoids posting about locking doors here and the headache of trying to prove what you are sure happened.

If not needed - Disable the honk on remote double-lock press under Truck settings Feedback option.

If you don't care about locking with a door/tailgate/hood actually opened - disable Mislock Chirp also.

There are two hood prop holes.
Normal and "extra tall".

If you are extra tall and don't want to bump your head, look for and use the alternate hole.
Can you show a photo of this? I've had this with previous vehicles, but I've never seen an alternate prop rod hole in my Maverick hood.

Just follow @Fletch_KC and stick it in any hole you find.
