Owned this vehicle for just 3-4 months now. 3 times I got in to go for a ride and the parking brake was set/on. I do not remember setting this when i got out of vehicle last... 25/xlt/awd/hydrid

So many of posters' questions would be answered if people just read their owner's manual. Just saying.well just read this.
: The electronic parking brake could apply when you power your vehicle on with the selector in park (P). Note: The electronic parking brake could apply if you shift to park (P) without fully pressing the brake pedal. Note: The electronic parking brake could apply if you shift to park (P) on a slope. Note: Do not manually release the parking brake when the selector is in park (P). See Automatically Releasing the Electric Parking Brake (page 183). Note: Your vehicle could shift into park (P
that's good to knowI always just turn off the vehicle without shifting into park because it's electronic and most times the brake will set if there's a slight angle. If I shift in to park from drive with the auto start stop enabled it will turn on the engine (because you have to go to reverse) and so I use it to avoid that.
