How many watts are the 2025 USB C ports?

I can't find how many watts the 2025s USB-C ports put out.

Are they powerful enough to super-quick-charge phones, or to charge a modern laptop? IIRC it takes about 65 watts to charge a laptop. Would be nice being able to charge off the USB C port and not having to carry around the 120v power brick!

Oh and a bonus question: I know the 120V outlets put out a weird split phase "AC" that some devices don't accept, so does it work with e-bike chargers? Mine are Specialized if it makes any difference ...

All the USB-C ports should be 15W (5V/3A) capable including the media bin port. It’s not PD and overall not that great but it’s better than they used to be that’s for sure. I didn’t know the rating initially and have been happy with the charging speed on my devices. The non-media ones keep my Samsung topped up while running AA however I haven’t tried it on the cubby port to see if that was the same or slower. I’ll give it a shot soon as I want to see if there’s an audio difference between wired and wireless anyways.

I’ve retrofitted a couple of the OEM USB-C inverters and they seem to be built well enough to support higher power output but I don’t know if there’s any way for them to actually allow it

Hyundais are also known to set fire to their trailer wiring loom while parked so I'm not really sure if their "super powerful USB outlets" are a actually good thing

Besides their hit or miss, take it or leave it styling Hyundai has been building some banger cars recently. Their EVs, design, and interiors are excellent.

The SC is so ugly it makes my 2025 Maverick look handsome but the new 2026 Palisade is going to make the short list to replace my wife's Odyssey.

15w, if it's the same as the 2022-2024's (just tested mine).

This will do 45w out of your cig lighter on the USB-C port, which is more than enough to use a laptop and charge (albeit somewhat slowly) at the same time, unless it's a gaming laptop.

I have those in my camper and they do work so that's an option.

I was curious if the factory ports could do PD, but it looks like they don't and I'll have to use the 120v power bricks or DIY something like you're suggesting. Thanks!

Hyundai has been building some banger cars recently.

So Hyundai runs those USB wires near the gas tank



Anyway, USB maximum power depends not just on the socket side, but also on the device.

Base spec is to deliver 1A at 5v, and there are multiple protocols for a device to ask for more and the source to agree.

I saw that it was rated 4.8/5 stars overall, but honestly I don't hold the general public in high enough esteem to value their reviews most of the time. People that could completely botch a one-man rock fight surround us.

Anyway, I don't have that specific item, though I have less ambitious Anker SAE devices. Maybe that one "pushes the envelope." The other 20-30 Anker products I have have all been great.

It pushes the envelope as that's A LOT of power in a tiny device... imagine a 150watt light-bulb sticking out of your 12volt socket. MOST devices WON'T draw that, but it's available if you need it. Lower power versions are available if you're nervous about it. Thermal and over-current protection is a good thing though, so I wouldn't ding this particular device for that.
