Folks,
The processing fee is not a new issue. The majority of dealers nationally charge a fee. The real issue is always the bottom line price after all fees. I believe that we will be offing a much better price at the end of the day then most other dealers. We are more then willing to provide a quote and let you make a decision.

Processing fee is one thing, but to say you are selling at 4% below invoice is disingenuous at best, bait & switch at worst. The subject line of the post is "4% below invoice" but at the end of the day, and at the bottom of the customer receipt, it's not.

I would cut them slack on the fee, yes it is high, but they have disclosed it up front. It would be nice if it was lower, but they can't charge you a lower fee and then other customers a higher fee. So they roll it in to a purchase price discount. Trust me, no one likes these fees, but I bet $900 is the norm for that area unfortunately.
I verified the $900 fee is normal for the area, however this is the internet it is not normal in most places and shouldn't be accepted as such. Probably why he needs to reach out to sell more vehicles as people leave the area. Additionally the headline is deceiving at best.

I'm glad I don't live in that area.

I will never used a dealership that charges 900 fee, there are plenty of honest dealership out there.

It’s a nice attempt at a save but we all know $900 is not needed for “processing”.
So, isn't this exactly like the folks who say "Ford is charging too much for shipping!" Yes, probably, but so what?! What's the bottom price?

So, get a quote, and if it is good, then go with it. If not, move on, and let the man do his business.

I’m not one of those people so I couldn’t tell you?

I’ve had a Maverick for over a month and a half, I don’t need a quote. I’m just letting the man know his “business” isn’t going to get much traction here and his bait and switch type tactics are pretty dumb.

Sorry, it actually wasn't meant to be directed to you personally. Your opinion is respected.

Fair enough lol. I don’t want to shit all over the guy because the deal could still be advantageous for some. But for me the BS fluff fee is too high, regardless. In addition, I just don’t like how he was attempting to click-bait us with a 4% under invoice thread title then waits to the near end of his long intro post to sneak that $900 in on ya.

You bring up an interesting point. Maybe we have a math wiz on here that could show us the figures on a Lariat with every possible option (to include a more expensive color) at invoice minus the "discount." Then add the $899 doc fee and see how much the actual savings are (if any).

I think the problem here is that there are at least 2 other dealers here that are legitimately offering this deal with a doc fee that is less then half. They also are willing to do the work for shipping and were doing courtesy.

The internet makes it very easy to comparison skip and this company is trying to copy their success, but be way more expensive. Maybe someone local will feel this is a better deal, but it's not a far drive from Virginia to Pennsylvania if you know what I mean.

Its basically the same deal the other 4% under invoice dealers were offering, with an additional $500 on top of what they charged for fees. I guess if they are your local dealer it might be worth it.

You have to look at it as MSRP with no dealer fees. Thats not a bad deal. Its not really anything to write home about either though, so you are only going to get local business.

It’s a nice attempt at a save but we all know $900 is not needed for “processing”. This forum has users all over the country and there have been countless dealers named charging less than this.

It’s a big chunk of change at this price point. Cut your “processing” fee even just in half and I’d bet the responses would be much, much different.
Don’t be so rough,in Connecticut most dealers are sticking it to people way worse $800-$1500 processing fees add-ons while New York by law add on $175..
