Please don't chase me from the forum, but It sure would be sweet if Lincoln and Ford would get together and make a Lincoln version of the Maverick like they did years ago this the Ford Ranger and the Lincoln Blackwood. In MHO the current Ranger is getting too big cause of the Bronco platform. I like my baby truck!

Blackwood was based off of the F150... It was aweful cheap badge engineering... A Lincoln with the Mavericks recycled blue plastic interior would only cheapen their already struggling branding...

In all due respect: If my memory serves me well, The Lincoln Mark LT was based off of the Ford F-150. The Lincoln Blackwood was based on the Ranger. I owned a Lincoln Marl LT and almost bought a Blackwood.

Thank you, I stand corrected. So, was the Blackwood just a fancied up Ranger?

I remember seeing this truck at the Ford dealer in Ada, Ohio. The tailgate was cafe door style. Maybe it was a customized Ranger. I am an old man. I don't know. lol

It had to be. I see plenty of Chevy pickups that have Cadillac front clips so it's entirely possible someone made their own Lincoln Ranger. I don't know if the Aviator front clip is a direct bolt on, but it certainly could be done.

I’ve had my 25 Hybrid Lariat for two weeks, and I’ve already had that thought. It’s really a unique vehicle. It gets positive reactions. People might pay higher prices for luxury and or new features.

if the Lincoln Maverick (needs clever name) actually added some new features it might sell well enough to help Ford make more money from the platform.

some ideas:
- pano roof
- factory fog lights
- fully adjustable seats (tilt seat pan)
- split rear seat
- mid gate or rear window that fully slides down
-something fancy with the bed, not sure what.

Ford is potentially figuring out moving production to the US, that might be the right time!

I have to agree the Blackwood was always based off of the F-150 for one model year only 2002.
It was followed by the Lincoln LT which was also a dressed up version of the F-150.

What you could have seen was a custom one off version of a Ranger dressed up as a baby Blackwood.
