I'd suggest getting a maverick on a lift and taking some zoomed out before and after pictures so people like me have a much better idea where this is at. I think it's very clear where and how to mount the kit. Simple, just look for the muffler, and the cover is above. Watch the video! If you can't figure it out hire a mechanic for 10 minutes of labor.

I found it to be a very clear description from the get go.
I took a look at the cavity and noticed nothing spraying up in there once I put my mud flaps on.
The cover is not water tight. I’m leaving mine open so it can air dry while driving.
I’ve had gaps like that in past pickup trucks. Never was a problem.
