Well I have a great track record for some serious high mileage ecoboost vehicles. All have run amsoil 5w30 and I run them very hard well over spec for towing and lots of miles. At 0 percent oil life left on monitor blackstone says it’s still good.

I have my hardest use on the oil to date heading in for analysis this week. Lots of heavy hauling, cold starts, and lots of idle time. We shall see.
Thank you for some insightful and real world experience and feedback. What specific Amsoil are you using? And how many miles is your oil change indicator suggesting an oil change with heavy usage?

What filter are you using as well?

Check your owners manual. It will have a specification identifier which Ford approves for your engine. Check the the oil brand of your choice to see if they meet that Ford spec. Mobile 1 lists my '24 Ecoboost spec. I can get 3 gallons for $60 (box with plastic blatter). Consistent, reasonable length service intervals will give you the longivity your looking for.

Any name-brand full synthetic done at 5k intervals would be my choice. M1, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, Havoline Pro-DS lifelong (comes in 6 qt box) are all excellent, inexpensive oils that you can pick up at Wal-Mart. It specs 5w30.

Your specific question is EP or ESP. I generally use EP on my 22 EB. Hell, I’ve even mixed Pennzoil Ultra with Mobil 1. I’m currently using ESP because it was on sale for less than EP. My change intervals make ESP redundant but on that day it was cheaper. I don’t think it makes a difference.

I understand you wanting to protect your investment but I wouldn’t sweat either of these choices, whichever is cheapest on that day.

I always use the OEM filter during warranty period. Don’t need Ford finding a loophole in regards to warranty coverage. After warranty I use K&N, I like the 1” nut on their filter for ease of removal.

Haha answer the question vs. just spitting off circumstantial knowledge. I've never seen ESP before but it seems like it's designed for cars with emissions reducing systems like the GPF in future Ford Mavericks but it's not clear to me how it would help unless you're burning oil. It seems like it's $1 cheaper per 5 qts than regular and extended performance so why not get it.

5w30 SS. It seems to be somewhere between 6-8k miles

So this is actually a great idea. The 2.0 in the ford performance cars calls for 5w50. Same with 2.3. So I’ve actually thought about running the 5w50 in the summer also.

Just laid down the keesh for a new 25 Mav XLT, 4K, FX4, LUX PKG. I know this can be a contentious subject but here goes... I've been a Mobil 1 guy for some time now. My question is which oil would be most beneficial/better for the 2.0 EB? Mobil 1 EP or the Mobil 1 ESP? I've searched and sifted thru countless oil forum threads and haven't found the answer I'm looking for. I also know that either of the two aforementioned oils will be acceptable, but I'm planning on keeping this truck long term and would like to fill the sump with the correct oil. I'm also open to using any other brand of oil... Of the two mentioned which would you lean towards, and if there are other brands you'd recommend, what are they? Thanks in advance!
Use a good brand of full synthetic. Motorcraft is a synthetic blend

The chance of there being a measureable difference in 2 mobile 1 oils is basically zero.
There's a measurable difference in the oils, if you break out the mass spectrometer.

How much of a difference you'll notice using one vs the other however...

If I remember correctly, ESP is formulated to help cause fewer issues with emissions components in Euro V engines. It's not going to cause any harm but I don't think there'll be any real added value over EP.

If you're looking to do much better than M1 EP, you're going to want to be doing oil analysis on the old oil often.

Most decent brands of 5w30 full synthetic will run fairly well. The standard Ford puts in is a semisynthetic, which is okay, but a full synthetic will work better. The impact you're going to see beyond that is likely going to be less than the impact of making sure to always run 91/92 octane gasoline with a good detergent package instead of whatever 87 octane gasoline is cheapest.

M1 EP is a fine choice, if you really don't want to run the full synthetic Motorcraft.

I'd be fine running the Motorcraft full Syn but I'm factoring price into the equation. If Mobil 1 EP is cheaper and better quality oil on paper than it's a win win. And that's what I'm after. "Best" oil at the best price point that makes sense. Also, I couldn't agree with you more on the higher quality octane fuel.

In the early days of synthetic I used Mobil 1--Amsoil came along and my son is hooked and insists we use Amsoil. Not sure brand is that important but regular oil/filter changes with modern turbo engines is critical and I do it at 3,000 miles whether it needs it or not!
