I have no problem with Continentals,HATE MICHELINS...reason being my wifey had factory Bridgestone on TOYOTA,went to MICHELINs and the road noise was deafening, went back to BRIDGESTONES and the difference was amazing

Said nobody ever. Wow what kind of Michelins? I've had hundreds over the years. Noise was never an issue

I used clear silicone sealant around the windshield and that corrected a lot of my wind noise.
Could you take a few photos to show us just how much you put on and where? I wouldn't mind quieting down the windshield a bit more (even though I have the Larait) on those 7.5 hours between Álamos and Green Valley that I seem to be doing every 6 to 8 weeks..

Picked up my 2025 XLT, AWD, hybrid , Carbon gray metallic, lux, 360, 4k tow on January 17th, I think it had 7 miles on it.

54 days later i have 527 miles on it.

Things I have noticed. AIr temp has a significant effect on fuel mileage. The colder it was, the less fuel mileage i was able to squeeze out. At times the in -town driving I was only getting 24-27 mpg. A few warm days, and the last two same in town trips I'm at 40+, sometimes 50+, but ya ya. i know i could coast and get the "99mpg+" that people like to show, i am happy with 40mpg in town

I did receive a full tank of fuel from Dealer (january 17th), and I topped tank off around the 300 mile mark. Hand calculation at that time was 29mpg

A few road noises where I can't determine what it is, but it's nothing pressing, wind noise or soemthing from the cowl/windshield on highway, speeds about 65 mph average, and the noise isnt consistent.

Notiched a blind spot as I turn my head to left to merge onto highway, i'm vertically challenged so that is most likely the reason

Plenty of bed space for what I need, plenty of rear seat room for my dog.

No need to tow yet

The driver lane departure warning with correction is blah, never had it before, don't plan on using it much.

Sound from speakers is that of a $36k vehicle, its good enough to listen to some MP3s

Wireless Android is ok, it seems to work ok, takes some time to connect, my 3 mile commute and I'm sometimes not even connected yet. It just sees to take it's time to be ready.

Parking it is like parking my old corolla, and def much easier then my 2500 Dodge that i sold.

The stock continentals are junk, hoping to find some Michelins this spring to put on.

The technology seems ample enough, i don't even plan on using some of the items. Ford App seems ok, the EV coach has even slowed me down a bit as I go around town.

I added a bed mat, all weather floor mats, the tailgate inserts (maverick letters), tinted the tail lights and sid marker lights, looks good from my point of view, spray in bed liner hopefully in April.

I enjoy the vehicle, it's comfortable enough, wish the center console was a tad higher. Hoping for a good experience with this as I keep my vehicles 10+ years.
Serious question here....and maybe you can tell me. How can you tell....or decide that the stock Contentals are "Junk"...compared to other brands that you may put on in the future. Does it ride loud? Does it hop around? Does it corner bad? Do they just look bad. I have the stock Contentals and honestly....I can't tell if they are "Great" or "Junk" looking at them or driving the truck for 8000 miles so far. I mean, if I replace them if a couple of years I will go with BFG Trail Terrains or something BFG, but for now, just curious why everyone calls them junk. Is it just a brand reputation thing? Not dogging on you....just curious what your take is. Thanks.

Glad you asked, my observation and evaluation is based on having owning several vehicles with multiple sets of tires, all different variations of AWD, FWD, 4wd, rear 2 wheel drive. The continentals have always been softer, wore faster, showed cupping more often, and overall value to price, just much less appealing. I've run Nokians and I find these tires to be exceptional, and a tire is something where you do get what you pay for.

I always sold family and friends on the more expensive tire only because when you think of it, the foot print that your vehicle sits on is minimal.

Do you have pictures of this? Can you elaborate?
When I picked up my Mav in Kansas I had a big cross wind and it whistled. I ALMOST returned it, but the wife and I had a 500 mile journey back home. I figured that a little silicone would fix it and it absolutely did the trick.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I’ve always gone with BF Goodridge and Michelin on my trucks and cars just based on friends and family running them with success. I’d probably never buy Continentals new. I just wondered why everybody says they’re so bad. 😎

The stock continentals get bulges on the sidewalls. Look it up. Many people on this forum has had this problem. Also, think about this. Any car manufacturer wants reduce manufacturing costs of their vehicles and tires are a part of that equation. Many new vehicles come with mediocre tires.

Yes,…. I know a lot of cars come with mediocre tires, but I was specifically asking about the continentals because I had heard good things about Continentals… never owned them myself until I got this Maverick. I was just curious what all the bad remarks were for. I remember Firestone’s reputation blowing up on old Ford Explorer’s but I just never heard Continental being dogged out as much as I’ve heard on this site.
