Nope. Nobody outside of Ford knows anything.
it would appear that nobody within Ford knows anything either - it's a software fix - they can't round up some coders to fix this? it's been months and there are 10s of thousands of trucks that can't be sold until it's fixed.

Software is not some easy thing to fix. I wouldn't expect someone who doesn't know programmers to get that though. Ford laid off least half of it's software team back in the summer, so clearly they are not in good shape to get the work done.

considering that I was an application coder and DBA for 34 years working for two blue chip companies, I can assure you that I 'know programmers' and your dismissive attitude is rather astounding and shows your arrogance. Debugging and troubleshooting software especially in 'modern times' where there are tools to monitor every module and where they collect diagnostics on their own test bed of trucks along with owners bringing in their faulty vehicles where likely there are fault codes already present and can easily reproduce faults in the lab isn't something that is out of the absolute ordinary. When you have that many vehicles sitting on the lot gathering financing charges and disappointing customers and incurring fines you would think that Ford would prioritize their projects and maintenance and at a minimum put a 'swat team' on this problem and resolve it. It's hilarious when Farley complains about the upcoming tariffs and how that's going to cause large losses while at the same time making ridiculous business moves like reducing the IT staff, losing 10s of Billions$ on their failed EV sector, incurring government fines due to faulty software and not taking any responsibility for that.

Put deposit on 2024 XLT 6 weeks ago
And haven’t heard any good news on recall solution. Anyone hear anything?
I was at my dealers yesterday, 24' XLT was sitting in the showroom, beautiful black, decked out pretty much. Same price as my 25' XLT Hybrid. Sales said they can sell it to whomever wants it, but cannot take delivery until the camera problem is solved. I asked him, why doesn't Ford just take all those cameras out and put in cameras from the 25's? Had no clue. The lot there is full of 24's that are just sitting. Losing money I am sure because no one wants to buy a year old vehicle nearly built two years ago. If those that are in search of a new vehicle, give yourself some wait time and they have to lower the price as well as have incentives to move them out quickly without losing even more money.

Frankly, I'm not sure why anyone is surprised by the lack of effort Ford put into software. Surely someone with your supposed in-depth knowledge of the software industry would be aware of how dismissive these big auto manufactures are of it already. Even some of the big tech companies have issues that don't get fixed for years just to save a buck on a quarterly shareholders statement.

Vehicle manufactures, not just Ford, have shown us time and time again that they suck at software, yet they cram more and more of it into vehicles all the time. They are terrible at software security, and are always looking for the cheapest way out of problems that they run into rather than building something robust. The reality is that the Maverick is an entry level, low profit margin vehicle, so it's low priority. This situation has shown us that clear as day.

I'm just a rando on the intarnets, but I feel like if it was an easy problem that could be resolved by throwing some coders at it that it would have been fixed by now.

But feel free to continue to rage blarg about how Ford is dummer than you are.

Sad, but I have said it before. This system has pretty much the computing power of the old Atari 2600. Ford will manage to come up with a software fix just good enough to keep Uncle Sugar off their backs.

it comes down to dollars and 'sense'. It's a ridiculous business decision - imagine staring at that potential $165 Million fine (and thousands of trucks that can't be sold) that they knew could to be levied if they didn't get the sw fixed and rollouts started and saying well we don't want to incur any overtime, we don't want to take some other bodies off some other projects, we don't want to 'invest' in the fix for this ...all of which even with OT and shuffling people around might have cost oh let's say to be generous 1 or 2 million bucks - we'll just take the $165 Million hit? What kind of logic is that? Believe me when I say that when we came upon a situation that popped up where we couldn't deploy services for some clients and that it was going to cost the company $10K (or less) a day unless we found the problem and fixed it - it was 'all hands on deck' and we were forced to work around the clock - no questions asked - until we resolved it and any complaints were met with 'if you don't like this job we have plenty of resumes waiting'. I just don't get it.

Indeed, yet we see these short sighted decisions made by auto makers all the time. Ford decided to put a really old setup in the XL and XLT and now they are paying for it. I have my doubts that a simple memory leak alone is the problem. What seems more likely to me is that they are just struggling to optimize the software, which was likely designed to run on the more powerful Sync3 hardware.

The latest rumor I heard was the only fix is to upgrade everyone to the MY25 camera and larger screen system. Ford please confirm this is true and get my recall repair scheduled ASAP. If you can upgrade my 24 XL with AWD and 4K towing at the same time I would forgive you for all the recalls.

I know you posted the above in jest.
If it were true. I would keep my system as is and let the next owner worry about it. I do not want a bigger screen
