Did they change the sound system with the 2025s?

I had a 2023 Lariat Tremor and was extremely disappointed in the B&O system, and added a small sub and amp, which helped tremendously. Couldn't even imagine how bad the "base" system sounded like.

I now have a 2025 Tremor, and already had an appointment to add the same amp and sub, but I think I'm going to cancel it now and save the money because the new system sounds A LOT better to me. Still could be a little louder, but it's not worth it to me to mess with the wiring and storage space now, I feel.

Anyone else notice this, or am I trippin' ?

I went from a '23 XLT -> '25 Lariat so take this with a grain of salt. I have sat in a '25 XLT with the base system and it definitely better than what I had stock in the '23, maybe the same could be said for Lariat trims. The B&O in my '25 is fantastic and I don't have any plans to change any part of it.

I test drove a lariat 24 and I was not disappointed with the sound system, I was like well, it's livable. then I sat in the tremor 25 on the dealer lot, and man it sounded really good. granted I want more bass as I always have subwoofers. so im tossing a 10 inch under seat compact one.

but think thats it.

Yea, I know what you're saying. I guess I should have said I was disappointed in the old system as an "upgrade." You are right, it was livable. The 25 just sounds so much cleaner to me, and the bass is better. Not mind-blowing, but for stock is pretty good.

sync4 probably does have better signal processing and more power output but I would expect the speakers themselves to be the same, and I'd expect that an add-on amp would be a significant improvement still. (edit: forgot that '25 Tremor = B&O. it probably does not need an amp except for sub.) I can't imagine how it could be nearly good enough to skip a sub as mentioned in the OP.

when you're at the bottom like the non-B&O 22-24 sound was, it's not too hard to improve, but I haven't heard base or B&O in a MY25 yet.

in the tremor I sat in, I couldn't decide if I liked stereo or surround more, kind of think I leaned towards surround setting more, + 2 or 3 bumps on bass. I think the rest was great.

Yeah the base speakers in the 23' XLT Tremor I had were total garbage. Possibly the worst speakers since a 93' Toyota Corolla.

It is nowhere near as good as the 15 speaker system in my Model 3 LR but it is quite a fine system. The speakers were so bad in the 23' XLT that I often times just wouldn't listen to music.

The 2025 B&O is nice and definitely serviceable for my ears.

I had it on surround and took it back to stereo. Feels like it is trying to do spatial audio but does a poor job at it.

surround is trash in both my Maverick and my Bronco which both have B&O (and the latter is sync4).

it emphasizes the center channel which I despise, and it sounds like it flips the rear channels to create 'ambience' so you have this weird diagonal soundstage as the midrange and treble from the left channel comes from center, LF and RR.

stereo mode for sure.

didnt have enough time to test it, only played a few songs. using iTunes, I prefer the pandora EQ I liked both. but yeah prob default to stereo when I do get mine one day. + kicker 10 inch sub underseat.

waiting for that deal of 277 again for the 51HS10 like Black Friday. seems like a great deal. +30 buck 4 year warranty Best Buy

That’s the exact one I put in mine from Best Buy in my 23. I got the open box which was brand new installed under $200 with the warranty because I was a total tech member.

The first thing I did to my XLT was to replace the front door and dash speakers with a "drop in" set by Powerbase (OE65C-FD), the cost was about $100 and it took about an hour. This was a huge improvement in sound quality. I am fairly impressed with the head unit's power output. Ford should be ashamed of itself with the crappy stock door speakers they used in this vehicle.

I had those speakers in my mustang, replacing the stock premium speaker,, agree was a large sound quality improvement. im not going to do it unless one of the stockers blow or something though.

Coming from a 22 XLT to a 25 Lariat the sound system is light years better. The 25 sounds amazing!
