I don't stop for stoplights or stop signs so no rear end crashes so far

Glen, is this in reference to the 2025 deletion of the heater control buttons? I wondered if there was a way this could be done thru the steering wheel buttons in the 2025's, the same way we can change volume and radio stations? I've gotten pretty proficient with doing that without even having to look.I'm glad I have buttons and I don't have to touch a cell phone style screen in order to change the temperature setting on my heater.
I would hate for a cop to get all confused over what they saw.
Not that I'm seeing. Though I am glad they moved the drive mode select to the steering wheel. Frankly I don't mess much with the climate controls when driving anyway, except for defrost settings. Drive mode is a different story.Glen, is this in reference to the 2025 deletion of the heater control buttons? Yeah, that would kind of stink, if not.

I change the climate control more so in the winter, than I do in the summer. Not that I'm seeing. Though I am glad they moved the drive mode select to the steering wheel. Yeah I just set it at my temperature and leave it. Turning it higher generally doesn't make it warm up much faster anyway, if at all. Just tells it when to stop.Yes it is.

I want heat fast in the winter. That means everything Max. As the interior temperature warms up I start lowering the temperature using my handy somewhat large temperature control knob.

Sorry this happened to you, but the unibody did was it was designed to do, take the blow and protect the passengers.Anyhow the truck being totaled. The Unibody is bent. The truck don’t hold up to well in a crash. Anyone else have issues.
So just head on and t-bone crashes then.I don't stop for stoplights or stop signs so no rear end crashes so far
Actually it does. Turning the heat selector past 85° to "HI" runs the auxiliary heater, if it's cold enough. I also select sport drive mode, so the engine continues to run.Yeah I just set it at my temperature and leave it. Turning it higher generally doesn't make it warm up much faster anyway, if at all. The 2023 manual says hybrid has electric booster heaters.
Electric Booster Heater Operation
The electric booster heater ensures that the passenger compartment can be quickly warmed up when ambient temperatures are low.
It is a heater element made up of ceramic resistors that is mounted in the climate control housing.
It directly heats the airflow into the passenger compartment rapidly in the case of low ambient temperatures.
The current is switched via three electric booster heater relays located in the BJB / BCMC.
...
Electric booster heater operating parameters:
• Engine is running
• HVAC controls have been switched to the highest temperature setting
• Engine coolant temperature is below approximately 75°C (167°F)
• Ambient air temperature is below approximately 12°C (53.6°F)
• Sufficient generator capacity is available
The electric booster heater is deactivated when an engine coolant temperature of approximately 85°C (185°F) or an ambient air temperature of approximately 15°C (59°F) is exceeded.
Fuses in BJB # 4, 7, 9
I do this as well during the winter. I liked my older cars setup that allowed me to change the HVAC temp from the steering wheel better.Yes it is.

The aux heater runs if needed whether it's set to high or not. And sport mode just means you're running the engine more than needed. That's your choice if it makes you feel better but the impact is psychological l.Actually it does. Turning the heat selector past 85° to "HI" runs the auxiliary heater, if it's cold enough. I also select sport drive mode, so the engine continues to run.
Here is a post from another member
truckers always do it..I also do it on freeways.I've never heard of or seen anyone do this?
very low but even that is a stretch..there are many sedans way lowerI have never come close to being rear-ended since I've gotten my Maverick, but in the 6 months I've owned it I've had four or five cars pull out in front of me. I'm like, what am I freaking invisible? Couple days ago a UPS truck started to pull out and if I didn't hit my brakes he would have slammed right into my side. And then he gave me a look, like he was saying, "sowwy.".
After reading about the accidents that people have had I thought well things happen. But I've had more close calls in the 6 months of this Maverick than I did in the previous 20 or 25 years of driving my Camry and my Plymouth Voyager. There must be something about the Maverick.
By "do this", are you referring to turning on the flashers when a line of vehicles suddenly stops or slows? I do it ALL the time and keep watch in the rear view until I see they are slowing. I also leave enough interval so I have a buffer.I've never heard of or seen anyone do this?
That's why I called them crash magnets in a previous thread.very low but even that is a stretch..there are many sedans way lower
Glad you're OK.I got a 2023 and recently was rear ended. The crash happened at pretty low speed I was going about 15mph and slowing down and driver was going about double the speed. Well the body was pushed and the passenger into the passenger rear door opening. Anyhow the truck being totaled. The Unibody is bent. The truck don’t hold up to well in a crash. Anyone else have issues.

I developed this habit when I drove a Schwan truck in the early 80's. Usually also have one eye in the rear view mirror and the other on the road ahead when approaching stale green lights or slowed/stopped traffic. If we're sitting and I'm at the end of the line, my flashers are on unless it's a regular stop light and even then sometimes I'll pump the brake pedal if I see someone closing in faster than they should!I've never heard of or seen anyone do this?
