Heh, I haven't actually seen large hail warned in a while, but I got a few funny looks a decade ago when there was a storm putting down "golf balls" a couple of dozen clicks away and I piled all my lawn furniture on top of my ride.
Whatever works, that's another good idea, if you have lawn furniture handy.

Yea . I would let insurance company total it and then buy it back as salvaged vehicle at steep discount . would still have warranty on Mechanicals . just my opinion .

I suggest carefully reading the terms and conditions of all the warranties on the vehicle, including the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. They'll usually has something in the fine print like:
"This warranty is non-transferable to a salvage or total loss vehicle.”

I'm pretty risk-averse, so I'd rather just let the insurance company take it away and buy a new one (or one of like kind and quality since that's what you're supposed to be able to afford with the check), rather than drive a vehicle where the warranties ended prematurely on a car that is basically worthless except for parts or to sell to a private party at a steep discount.

Page 3, and noone has pointed out that something doesn't truly become a truck until it sports a couple of serious dents?

Take the insurance money put max allowed into Roth plus other stock accounts. Never spend it or profits until you turn 70. Drive truck until it falls apart. Add to accounts each month the amount of a car /truck payment.

It must be pretty bad. I got $10,000 worth of hail damage on my ‘22 Lariat and it’s getting repaired as we speak. About 50% (fenders) paintless, 50% (hood and roof) body shop.

If you know a hailstorm is coming and can't pull the vehicle indoors PROTECT THE ROOF, cover the roof with whatever you have a few blankets and cardboard and tie it down, that's where the money is, a hood can be replaced easily a roof is big BUCKS.
After I retired, I worked for a major insurance company as a damage appraiser, shortly after I started, we had the one and only hailstorm here in NY, LI that I ever heard of, we were estimating vehicle for months, I know this happens often in other states but unheard of here, it was aways the roof that totaled most vehicles out. The PDR guys set up tents in big lots were 100s of cars were damaged and worked night and day, they flew men/women in from all over the country, they were in their glory, they made a lot of money.
Lots of Bondo on a aluminum hood won't last, engine heat will affect it, the Maverick don't have a insulation pad inside engine compartment, I have seen them being sold AM. Try PDR or for long term repair replace hood or live with it.
I was out on my bike in one and I parked under a bridge. A few cars joined me.
