Continental Procontact TX on Maverick XLT worn already?

I have 33,000 miles on my 2022 Maverick XLT. The dealer told me I need tires. I checked with my tire gauge, and they are right. According to a tire website, they are warranted to 55,000. Considering I need new tires, wouldn't this void the warranty? Anyone else only get 33,000 miles or so from these tires?

Nope 9300 miles on my 24 xlt and the Continental tires still look new, might be your driving style. I've gotten a minimum of 65k miles out of any tires stock or not.

Some members have suggested that the factory tires come with less tread depth than if you were to purchase the same tire aftermarket. I don't know if this is true but you are not the first person to replace factory tires with similar miles on them.

The chance of you getting them replaced under the warranty is not good. The dealer and Ford will just claim this is a standard wear and tear item and suggest you should drive less aggressively to preserve tread life.

30,000 and I replaced them with Michelin Defender 2, and couldn't be happier. Better grip. More tread than OEM, supposed to be a long lifetime too.

I've been through a set much quicker than that...but I was in high school lol. I quickly decided tires are too expensive to send them away in a cloud of smoke.

A family member has an XL hybrid as a company vehicle. Last I saw it, probably had 15k on the stock Continentals and they didn't seem to have much, if any, wear.

They do come with 9/32 from the factory and a UTQG of 500, which is pretty low for a standard all-season tire.

Mileage warranties have always been a bit of a joke; to claim one you have to prove regular rotation with no alignment issues, and then you get a fractional discount on a new set unless it was an exceptional circumstance, in which case the tire shop that sold them is more more likely to help you out than the manufacturer.

The wear of a tire is also greatly impacted by the road surface. Easy driving on smooth roads and mostly highway is going to have a much different result than harder driving in the city, off-road, chipseal / roughed up asphalt.

I don't think the OE tires on this vehicle are that bad though. Ride quality and noise are pretty good, and they have more grip than many OE tires that are straight up absolute minimum cost garbage. I would be happy to get 25-30K miles from them without the performance dropping off precipitately. When you think about the forces and wear on a tire in climates that have 3-4 actual seasons, it's pretty amazing they last even that long. Guess I also subscribe to the idea that you should spend the money needed for your mattress, shoes, and tires since you're on one of them nearly your entire life.

The stock tires suck in snow and are OK in the rain, so they feel like they are 'worn' under any non-ideal driving conditions.

They are good at fuel efficiency on dry pavement.

Every time I’ve gotten a new car and they came with continentals, the tires have been trash. I’ll will switch them out with a different brand now if the dealership won’t.

Warranty is Pro Rata, also requires purchase of replacement comparable Continental / General tire brand. Tread requirement is 2/32 or less.

You can pick up a take-off pair of CPC TX for cheap off MTC or other website. I'm also thinking the retail version would have thicker tread, so you could buy new. I like the idea of a 17" Mich Primacy (the other OEM 18" tire), but they are not cheap.

Look at the warranty information for any tire company

They DO NOT warranty ANY OEM tire options

That is just the way it is

These tires were utterly dogshit from day one, I only kept them on because I don't like wasting money.

After 30k KILOMETERS they were worn down beyond being able to sell, and from day one the hydroplaning and slipping on wet grass was horrendous.

Since got Firestone Destination AT2s and have not looked back.

Even the OEM KO3s that come on the Ranger Raptor are quite different from actual KO3s, and BFG is same deal, no tread warranty on OEM tires, and their architecture is so slightly different. Few vids on youtube about it.

As far as I know, this is all tires, all vehicles.

I have yet to read the fine print of ANY tread warranty that DOES NOT exclude OEM tires.
