Two things Deuces referenced. One, these Volvo cals are smaller than Fords. Secondly, it took a .08 milling of caliper so the Bronco wheels would not rub. I can see the steelies not rubbing. Those things are so butt ugly nothing wants to close to them. :cwl:

The milling wasn't for the wheel interference, it was to center the rotor in the caliper. The caliper would have interfered with the BS wheels by roughly .040", and I think the Steelies cleared before the milling.

No worries at all. I wouldn’t think the rotors would change but I didn’t verify myself. Part numbers for the 2025 Maverick Lobo:

Left caliper: LX6Z2B121A
Right caliper: LX6Z2B120A

L/R bracket: LX6Z2B292B

L/R brake caliper spring: E1GZ2B486A

Brake pads: LX6Z2001B

I’ve attached the link before but here it is again since that was a few posts back. Direct link for the FordParts website

Thanks! Sorry I didn't click the link, I wasn't paying attention, lol.

Right, but as I understand it, it did have the side benefit of enabling the wheel to now clear by .060 or so if I read your posts correctly. My apologies for any confusion if I am having a senior moment. :cwl:

My concern now, for me, is how the 17" FX/4 wheels will clear the caliper.

A quick glance on eBay turns up many of these calipers in various condition. Reasonable pricing. Some even are selling the rears as well as the front.

Thanx for the advice. (y)

@Bob The Builder it all depends on what you do with them. The retromod center caps I BSed into greatness on Freddie have a special soft spot in my heart. That soft spot may or may not match the one in my head, but either way I can't help but smile every time I see Freddie and mutter "ain't she sweet" like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino.

I do like those center caps. I bought a new set of the Volvo/brembo calipers to try. What showed up were Chinese clones. I did screw up the order from HEL and I likely have useless hoses.

I did find that a set of 2021 Ford Transit Connect front hoses fit the calipers and I'm betting they will fit the Ford hard line fittings on the body. I am using Brembo OEM ceramic pads.

My Maverick should be here within two weeks to test fit.

I'm bringing this thread back to life to share that I upgraded the stock rotors to the Volvo S60r rotors. They do, in fact, fit! They aren't perfectly centered, since I removed material from the mounting ears, but the function fine.

The problem with the factory rotors is that the pads overhang the outside of the rotor, and I didn't notice this until I put my new pads on. So, for anyone wondering, you can use all of the Volvo S60R/V70R brake components, with custom lines!

That is all,

John

Thanks John for the update. I have my S60R calipers, '21 Transit Connect brake hoses and Brembo ceramic pads. I also have Mach-E GT wheels and 20" tires. Now all I need are the S60R rotors and my Maverick out of the body shop. Repair parts are on back order until mid-May.

Update: Well, I received my Maverick on 2/7/25 and had a fender bender on 2/10/25. My Maverick has been out of service at the dealer since, waiting on a wiring harness for the parking sensors and camera.

I paid the difference for an authorized electrical technician to repair the harness and after three failed attempts I'm told they are going to have to wait for a harness from Ford. Part SZ6Z15K867BA expected ship date is mid-July though Ford builds hundreds of these trucks with that part daily. 🤔

I have a mountain of parts for this little truck, if I can get my hands on it again. Sorry for the bad news.

Are these the 330mm/ 13" diameter rotors same as the Volvo V70R? Is there clearance for 336mm rotors if substituted die to availability. What was your source for rotors?

I cannot guarantee that the 336mm will clear, as that's adding .120" to the radius of the rotor, and that's already pretty tight!

Last that I heard from the OP recently, was the Volvo/Brembo calipers won't need modification if used with the Volvo 330mm rotors vs the Maverick 325mm. The Brembo pads didn't fit the Maverick rotors perfectly is what he said and he swapped rotors. I like this solution because it allows me to use my 17" steelies with 235/75 Hankook Dynapro AT2 in the winter. Then I have a set of Mach-E GT 20" wheels with 255/50R20 Summit Trail Climber SUV2 tires to run 3/4 the year. Rock Auto has the 330mm rotors under 2007 Volvo V70R, as I recall. Keep me posted on the Mach-E brakes as to what rotor was needed, wheel fitment, bracket, etc.

Yes they need to be trim on the back so they line up center. If not they will have more gap between the inside or outside brake pads

What he is saying, is that I switched from the Mav rotors to the S60r rotors, and they look like they would line up much better and possibly not need the calipers milled down.

I'm pretty sure there have been a bunch of people doing the Mach E calipers. I haven't seen what all is needed for that though.

From reading the OP’s post and some not all of the others this Mod changes brake bias to the point of defeating the anti lock system or disabling it to the point of making rear end lock ups more likely.

Is this not dangerous as all Hell ?
For other people on the roads ?
Like a Soccer mom with a pack of kids in the car?
Could it be considered totally irresponsible?

Emergency braking happens without warning,
In traffic,
Likely on less than optimum roads and or weather.
I think this Mod is very irresponsible.

Ok flame me, what did I miss ?

After that happened, I did tear into the brakes when I was putting new pads on. The drivers side pins had somehow backed out, causing the pads to bind. This may have been mostly to blame for the truck kicking out.

When I calculated the volume difference between the single piston and the 4 piston calipers, the difference wasn't that drastic.
