Let it get off track, this is a good brake discussion with tons of info! I looked into the 2 piston corsair calipers while I was deep in this, and I thought the Edge uses them too. Can't remember for certain. Thanks for all this info, I'll probably upgrade to a better pad on this setup, and I'll add antisieze!

Well now that we have OP's permission to keep going down this ADHD rabbit hole.

I looked around online and couldn't find any dimensions for surface area for mav front pads and corsair gt. I'd imagine the gt ones are larger but by how much and to what degree it would compensate for the smaller rotor diameter I don't know.

To be honest I like the idea of the Corsair gt swap just so I can rack points on purchase and mess with the local dealer parts department for funsies. Lol.

basically have two options. find a Ford dealer or auto parts store locally that has both pads in stock. if they're the same part number then no need to investigate further lol.

otherwise go there and look at both. bring a measuring caliper, measure, take pics.

second option is buying the brakes and looking at the pads same as above. buy from somewhere you can return them just in case.

from just a brief look over the 21 Corsair v 22 Maverick, mostly just variant parts like the hub, rotor, etc. but should be a bolt-on for most everything else, yeah?

I'm prolly missing it but what size wheels are you currently using with this Brembo setup? I remember Fast Mavericks saying 19" wheels were needed due to clearance

I am running my factory Steelies in the winter and my Bronco Sport wheels in the summer, both factory 17x7".

Ivan used Focus RS Brembos, which I assume where much larger radially than the Volvo ones I used.

If you’re feeling froggy enough I believe the Lobo “upgraded” brakes are just the dual piston units from the Corsair. They’re fairly cheap and are listed now on Ford Parts for 2025 Mavericks. I might look into this swap soon
@fstlan3 Hey, I misspoke when I said that I had looked at the Corsair 2 piston calipers. It was the Nautilus that I found those on. I'm looking now and I am not seeing a 2 piston caliper for the Corsair. Do you happen to have part numbers, or where you possibly thinking about the Nautilus as well? Thanks!

those are illegible but find the pads and check if they're the same part number, and if not do what I mentioned several replies back. (y)

Last car I had before this was a 2014 fusion se. Amongst the many examples of dumping silly amounts of money on a 2.5L lead lines people carrier was swapping front brakes out with an edge st. Shared the same 345mm rotors and two piston calipers as the fusion sport.

Hubs were identical aside from the fact the lugs were upped from M12 to M14 because...reasons?...I guess?

Bracket had to be swapped but spindles were the exact same across base fusion, sport, escape, edge.

Allegedly there were "some" 18s that people were running that fit over the brake setup when I mocked it up I was skeptical so I bumped up to the focus st/rs ford racing 19s that were on clearance because the focus had been discontinued for going on 5 years by this point (which, by the way, Ford Racing swore up and down that the the 19s weren't compatible with the fusion even though they shared the same center bore, lug pattern, lug diameter, offset, and back spacing. Gotta love a guy that needs to know if the truck is rwd or 4x4 to tell you what kind of wipers it needs). And even then inner wheel clearance was really tight.

So, one long rattling tangent later, based on my experience, @Bob The Builder it seems like it'd have to be at least 18" probably 19". The sport calipers were big, those brembos look huge.

@gunnmitten, Ford has been excellent recently at making 3 different trim levels of 5 different cars with 2 unique part variants. My money is on everything bolts up. Possibly without having to change hubs because difference is going to be something silly like different lug diameter.

...thank you for coming to my TED talk.

@Dueces they are exclusive to the Corsair Grand Touring plug in hybrid because...again...reasons?

looks like the tasca screenshots uploaded to garbage and unreadable. But tasca is showing the 2021 corsair to have lx6z2b121a, which seems to be a dual piston caliper

No worries at all. I wouldn’t think the rotors would change but I didn’t verify myself. Part numbers for the 2025 Maverick Lobo:

Left caliper: LX6Z2B121A
Right caliper: LX6Z2B120A

L/R bracket: LX6Z2B292B

L/R brake caliper spring: E1GZ2B486A

Brake pads: LX6Z2001B

I’ve attached the link before but here it is again since that was a few posts back. Direct link for the FordParts website

Well...color me impressed.
Two things Deuces referenced. One, these Volvo cals are smaller than Fords. Secondly, it took a .08 milling of caliper so the Bronco wheels would not rub. I can see the steelies not rubbing. Those things are so butt ugly nothing wants to close to them. :cwl:
