Having low battery concern at temps below 40 deg. Problem appears to be related to windshield heater for camera. Receive message on Ford Pass that remote features turned off due to low battery. found battery down to 50 %. Noted snow melting 3 hrs after turning off truck. Problem intermittent.
Was wondering if anyone else seen this concern.
Truck at dealer , battery test good. No draw noted at this time. Ford contacted,
I am retired dealer tech. Tech at dealer is friend.
Thanks

Yes, this is a common problem. There are many battery issue threads on this forum. Hybrids seem to have more issues than the EcoBoosts. I have an EcoBoost and after 2 years of this nonsense, I installed an AGM battery myself. I rarely experience a battery issue but I am looking forward to the software fix coming within the next 2 months. Hopefully this fix the BMS (battery management system) so the battery issue will be solved.

For me BMS puts truck into sleep mode if idle for more than a week. Remote start will not work, lights do not turn on when door is opened. Once key is turned to on position, everything is reset and the truck always starts normally.

Yes I know about the Hybrid battery concerns. This only started when temps drop below 40 deg F.
No software updates available. AGM battery in truck and tests good. Truck never sits for more than 2-3 days.

This as written happens when it’s cold or my truck is not driven enough. The other issue is fuel consumption when it is cold. My mileage drops off about 50!%. I accidentally found a screen that shows a schematic of the hybrid battery. It shows a line running from the radiator to the battery. Apparently or should I say seems that the battery has to be kept warm also. When all of this is happening the truck rarely is running on electricity power. One everything warms it is okay

Sounds like you have a defective battery, I'd have Ford replace with a new one under warranty.

Your call on the camera windshield heater is probably good.

Just like most intermittent parasitic draws, it's some system that is indeed supposed to fire up under certain conditions, but something goes wrong and it's engaged way too much.

So either sensor reading for the condition is wrong (it sees key in ignition after it's been removed?), or some module is telling it to fire off or continue (is that controlled by PACM or BCM) when it should be done.

It soon will be a battery issue if they don't find it. While it's not as bad as a non-intermittent parasitic draw like 0.5 amp continuous because some stupid glove box light is turned on after lockup, it will eventually get there.
Problem is non-intermittent much easier to track down, but you have given them a huge clue I'd think - exact system and when.
Don't let them pawn it off on some software update coming.

Going to see if I can remember to check some PIDS for that heater - hope it's called heater at least.

ETA - I did see you are a tech, so throwing in extra details for others, so they don't just lump this in to bad battery and a fix is coming.

Hi...I get that stupid message every time I want to use my remote start on my 2024.
What good is it if it never works ?
Had the dealer check it out & their answer was that there's a weak battery issue, so I just need to drive it more. They say they can't replace the battery until it tests bad.
I bought a truck to drive when I want - not be told to drive it more than I want, just make a feature, useable.
I didn't buy this truck to drive everyday.
I asked the salesman about the remote start when I was ordering it. He said the Ford pass remote was way better than the old key fob type...WRONG !...
I have several other vehicles with the key fob starters & they ALWAYS work.
Then I found out the the key fob type was available when I was ordering the truck, but the salesman never let me know about it. Now it sounds like it's a major, expensive project to add one.
I love everything else about the truck EXCEPT this. ..

Hold Strong. Reset the BMS and throw a battery tender on there ocassionally in the mean time.
