Where are you mounting your phone in 2025 Maverick now that the cubby is gone?

I used to mount my phone in cubby section. Now I'm not sure where the best position would be :/

Not sure why it would need or want to be mounted anywhere? I keep mine in my pocket and let the infotainment do the rest. I have a wireless adapter in mine that works great.

No more phone holder, finally.

I am placing mine on the wireless charging pad, or, when I don't need to charge it, on the phone holder which is right of the wireless charging pad.

I've been driving the 25 for a 1,000 miles now. The updated Sync4 is vastly superior to the old and relying on your phone for music is easier. Messaging from voice command works well. No buggy issues with maps anymore.
I use the lower phone cubby to charge but cord management is poorly designed. That alone is reason for an aftermarket holder. The hole in the dash was a perfect space for it .

Functionally, If you still need your phone, just get a suction mount and put it on the screen in the same space where you currently have your phone. The information in that space is redundant to the main cluster and seems like an afterthought.

In the early 90's (pre flip phones, when mobile phones were status) I used to design aftermarket phone mounts for luxury brand cars. They were designed to integrate visually to each model car, used no screws and were wrapped in leather. Universal ball swivel type mounts were available but looked like a kluge in your new Jag.

Yep, mine is usually upside down as well. Doesn't bother me a bit.

Yeah, I had typed out but deleted a bit saying it wasn't a big deal for me since I use CarPlay and just interact on the larger screen. It's just kinda funny because it does look like they tried to design it with a little room for a cord to be plugged in but it's just not enough unless you maybe used a cord with a 45 degree connector.

Yes the cubby hole looked stupid until I got a Maverick cubby hole specific phone mount for in it and all of a sudden it became such a great feature sorry for all those who will never benefit from the early Maverick smaller Sync3 systems.

That's not how the specific for Maverick cubby hole phone holders work. The phone isn't in the cubby hole it sits out side and to the right of Sync3 three at an angle for the driver and the USB cable is fed by the USB ports below. Android Auto and Car Play are so limited in functionality it's much nicer to be able to use the phone directly for all apps to be usable while driving.

He is talking about the slot in the console to hold a phone just like I was, not the small cubby next to the screen

I haven't found any significant limitations with AA/CarPlay when driving, at least not for the things that you should be doing when driving like NAV, music playback, responding (by voice) to text messages, etc. Anything else can wait till the next stop.

I’ve just been putting mine in the vertical holder next to the wireless charger. A little bummed I can’t use the wireless charger without removing the phone case because the area isn’t wide enough.

So instead of a $30 device they made it standard along with many other things that were either options or didn't exist for the 22 to 24 models and increased the price of the truck by how much? I'm glad I got mine when I did. For me it was a very economical purchase, it doesn't seem that way anymore.

But those were the things - or lack of - that kept the price down.
When the 22 came out it was exciting to be able to get a new vehicle for $22,000, $23,000.
Then everybody kept asking for more and more and Ford did it.
Now at $30,000 plus it doesn't seem so exciting.

But I guess that market was tapped - the cheapskates - we got our $23,000 trucks . Now they are going after the kind of people who want more bells and whistles and will even pay more for certain colors of paint.

I think the price increase had much more to do with the unexpected massive sales success of the Maverick. The Maverick was released in 2021 with a starting price of $20K. However, Ford was not at all expecting the Maverick to be the sales success it ended up being. CEO Jim Farley admitted as much in June 2023 and said:
" Unfortunately, we completely under-called the demand for Mavericks. So, I’m not confident even with the capacity increase that we’re going to have a lot of Mavericks available to everyone."

So when it was released it was priced aggressively because they expected it to be a low volume seller and the low price would help entice buyers. And when demand for the Maverick quickly far exceeded their expectations they raised the price fairly substantially every new model year.

the Maverick was very likely priced with very, very little profit for the first model year because Ford had low expectations on how this truck would sell. And to be honest for good reason. They were entering a small truck market that hadn't existed in this country in well over a decade.

I have 8500+ miles on a 2025 lariat and most of those have been with the phone on the wireless charger.

Biggest need for a phone mount in the 25 is the lack of any way of showing the turn by turn on iPhone apps like Waze, Google Maps, or even Apple Maps. It shows the upcoming turn, but not any following turns. Having an idea of how quickly to prep for the next turn is helpful.

Only use phone for calls so it stays in my leather large fanny pack . phone in one section and Mav key / fob in front section . phone hooks up automatically to Mav with Bluetooth .

My 2025 Maverick Lariat AWD Hybrid came with a 13” Smart Screen that automatically connects to my iPhone- I keep my phone on the wireless charger wasn’t that always the intent with the advances in technology- embrace change my friend I didn’t think I could live without my quadraphonic 8-track tape player in my 1966 Ford Fairlane but look at me now…

I messaged one of our vendors asking about a phone mount and I was told there was one coming. So I would just keep your eyes open because there are products that will be addressing this.
