I've owned a few Ford's. 1969 Ranchero, 1968 Falcon, 1992 Ranger, 2002 Explorer and now my Maverick.
My Ford's: 1950 Tudor custom, 1953 Golden Jubilee tractor, 1969 F100, 1979 Granada, 1979 F150, 1987 Aerostar, 1990 Ranger, 1994 Mustang, 2003 F350, 2003 Taurus, 2003 Explorer, 2004 Mustang, 2005 Focus, 2007 Mustang, 2010 Expedition, 2024 Maverick pending delivery. I've had 4 GM's, 3 Mopars, and one Toyota. Interestingly the Toyota was not a foreign car as I owned it in Japan.

I've owned many Ford products over the years (all of them served me well), but the Maverick is the first one I purchased new. Previous new purchases were Mazda, Honda and Toyota. So far, I'm very happy with my Maverick.

A bias is usually instilled by some positive or negative experience, real or imagined. Thru my 50+ years of driving & hobby racing, I've owned samples of just about every mainstream brand, except Toyota. Nothing against them, they have just never made anything I wanted. But my Ford trucks through the years have always been solid, and some of my favorite vehicles. My Maverick is easily the best "value" vehicle I've ever driven. I usually don't keep cars & trucks too long, but going into year 3 with the Mav, and 45K miles, I still see nothing worthy of replacing it. 🤠

Believe or not, my experience with Ford over the years hasn't been good. However one of the good Ford/Mercury products I owned was a 1978 Mercury Bobcat Wagon. That thing drove wonderfully and was easy to work on. I had the 4 speed stick. The best one that I wish I never sold was my 1968 Ford Mustang. Built 302, racing tranny, lowered all around, black vinyl top with yellow paint. All new chrome, refinished interior. Went to car shows with and waxed it every month.

Then I went stupid and bought a Ford Tempo. Worse car I ever owned and cost me thousands of dollars and lost time that I will never get back. That car was a "brick" on wheels. CONSTANT electrical issues, battery issues, on-board computer issues, just about anything electrical would fail, get replaced, and fail again. After that, It was a used 1972 Datsun 510. Another car I shouldn't have sold. Google it and you'll see why. That 510 was a BLAST to drive! Dropped a bigger engine and radiator in it. Weber carbs. Headers, front air dam, lowered it, oh I just cry that I sold it.

Then for 35 years, it was all Toyotas. And the 2015 Prius won me over for gas mileage. So when Ford came out the the Maverick Hybrid, I was sold! Then the battery issues came and the recalls and the CV axle issue and I was disapointed. But dang people, the Maverick truly is fun to drive! Mine has the sun/moon roof, powered drive seat, heated seats, painted to match mirror caps and it is everything I wanted. Average 45-47 mpg in the city and just at 40 mpg on the highway............in a truck!!

I am hopeful that Ford fixes the CV axle issue and the battery issue. That is really all it would take to satisfy my needs.

I grew up in a VERY GM-biased family (never understood why, since my dad had a Ford Torino in high school and his brother was a Ford guy but w/e). We never once had a Ford car growing up.

I told my parents I ordered a Ford Maverick and there was some drama involved. "Why would you ever do that?" they say with a disgusted look on their face.

The few Ford rentals I have had as an adult have been great. Have had my eye on the Maverick since the first announcement and have been waiting for them to release an AWD Hybrid version. I'm really looking forward to having a Maverick.

Grew up GM all the way here too. Always liked the Camaro over the Mustang growing up (they always had a bit more power), and never cared for the F150 look. I had a 98 silverado Z-71 with that green speckled paint that was beautiful (same as below but with the extended cab and a manual transmission).

Ended up getting an F150 for a few years when I had a camper to tow with the 3.5 ecoboost. Had no problems with that and with a tune, damn that was fast. But it was HUGE. I've been less of a die-hard about US brands since, I really do like some Fords (Focus RS, Fiesta ST, I love my hot hatches).

I never cared for the Colorado, the S10 was a great truck, but after that... meh. I'm not sure Chevy makes a vehicle that I like... The Corvette is always cool and impressive but I'm not a Vette guy. Years ago I'd gotten A Camaro... SS with the LE package. My dream car since I was a kid. Perfect to take down to the track instead of my MazdaSpeed3. And I mostly hated it and sold it within a year.

Anyways, now I kinda prefer the car to the brand. Had a VW GTI, a Mazda of course, a Subaru WRX STI, a cooper S, a Fiesta ST, a couple of Acura Integra's, a couple older trucks, a Kia, a toyota Prius when I was commuting, a Wrangler Rubicon an Xterra, a Tesla model 3, and the Mav now.

I was driving home yesterday and ended up behind an early model S10. That thing looked SO TINY. It's scary that trucks have gotten so huge that a Maverick is considered "small" when it's as big as an 80s half-ton

I suppose you can count me as Ford faithful, having owned at least one for 36 years among other brands. I have never been left stranded, but I work on them myself and stay on top of wear and potential issues more actively than most people. I'm a driving enthusiast and have always preferred Ford's dynamics over other domestic makes. The Maverick is no exception to that and "feels" like a Ford.

100%. Crazy that the Ranger is larger than some 3/4 ton pickups from the 80s.

I currently have a 2007 Mustang with 185k miles on her. Still wins first place in car shows. And driven through all 50 states. Best Ford I have owned out of 16 I have had over the years. Also have a 2010 Expedition with 198k. My 1950 flathead is solid as a rock too. I only hope when I finally get my Maverick the trend continues. But I am a little anxious. Never thought I'd have to wait on a recall before receiving a new car.
Recently sold a 2008 Roush Mustang. Loved it! Car shows were a blast

Old fart here... 1st car when 16 was a used 62 Falcon (My father was a Ford guy, never owned anything else), so why would I look elsewhere. Over the years have wandered to Saab (one of my Saab 96's had a Ford of Germany V4. That Saab replaced my 2 stroke 3 cyc Saab 92. lol) and Subaru, but came back to Ford. Last 3 were a 2010 Edge, a 2015 Edge and a 2020 Escape, all "Ford Certified" purchases. Both Edges had one front wheel bearing replaced, nothing else. One before 48 th, the other after, so one covered, the other not. Nothing on the Escape, bought at 9400 and traded one month shy of 4 years later with 64,000+ for my Mav. As many of you have with your Mav's, my Escape had several episodes of electronic glitches, one continually (Auto up function on drivers door window failing) an several 1 or 2 time issues... Craziest was one morning when starting and the computer screen was a mirror image of what it should have been. Luckily enough I took picture of it as I really don't thing the service guy at the Ford dealer believed me. hahahaha

all my friends and colleagues say never buy a Ford. I could never understand why.
It's self Importance, they feel they have to justify their personal choice of an auto brand and the only way to do that Is to shoot down other peoples choices.

I've had an old school ranger bought new and sold running great at 280,000 miles.
1980 LTD used, Windsor engine with 112,000 miles, drove it to 210,000 and sold it running like new.
2010 Mustang 4.0 Liter V-6 with the cast iron block and heads. bought with 20,000 on the clock, Sold at 154,000 running like new.
2013 F-150 V-6 XL work truck. Bought new for $19,500 out the door, personally sold to my Ford Salesman with 167,000 miles on the clock, still on the original spark plugs and zero problems. He loved it.
2016 Ford Transit Connect LWB bought used with 16,000 miles on the clock, It was a rental.
Hit by lightening at 108,000 miles, nearly destroyed it, $7,600 in repairs, drove it to 137,000 miles and never a problem.
2021 Bronco Sport Base 58,000 flawless miles, traded for my Maverick.

Yeah I'm a Ford driver for life.

I wasn't a "never a Ford' guy, but every time I drove one over the years it usually just didn't seem to "fit" right; the seating position didn't feel right and the controls didn't seem to be in the right place so when it came time to look for a new vehicle I rarely even checked out the Fords. Over the years I've owned VWs, Fiat, Buicks, GMCs, Chevys, Mini (Leyland), Mini (BMW), Saabs, MG, Geo, Saturn, Pontiacs, Toyota, and probably others I've forgotten about. When we decided to move on from a truck & 5th wheel to a motor home it became a necessity that the next wife's car had to be one that could be flat towed, AND we wanted a hybrid. That completely narrowed it down to the Escape. A buddy of mine has owned four of the things and highly recommends them so I checked out the Escape and set about to find one. After living w/ the hybrid Escape Titanium for over a year I had gotten very fond of the thing so when the 5th wheel and the 3/4 ton HD truck left, a hybrid Maverick seemed worth checking out. So, at this point am I a "Ford guy?" I don't know, but so far I'm pretty happy and impressed w/ the things.

Been driving for over 20 years. Own and rented a bunch of cars. Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Kia, Lexus, mercedes, BMW, Audi and jeep. Cant really compare the maverick to the luxury brand as they are two to three times the price but I definitely don't feel 2 to 3 times the luxury. Plus when I spent that much money, it drives me nuts that there are some feature missing.

Brands that I really enjoy driving is the Mazda and the Ford. The transmission shifting, steering and brakes is just on point.

I owned or rented several Ford in the past. The transit, fusion, focus and now maverick. Does anyone else have similar experience? Im new to US and all my friends and colleagues say never buy a Ford. I could never understand why.
I was a loyal Ford customer until the early 2000’s, as I’ve owned a 1968 Ford Fairlane, two different Gran Torinos, Pinto, Pinto Wagon, the car version of the Maverick, Taurus Wagon, several Aerostar Conversion minivans, and several extended length Aerostar vans. Plus a Mercury Lynx station wagon. I’ve had good ones and bad ones. As the early 2000’s rolled around, I kind of got away from Ford for a while, owning a variety of Toyota cars, trucks, and minivans, a few Nissan Sentras and a Nissan Minivan, a Honda Insight hybrid, CR-V, and Element, a Chevy 1500 cargo van and a Silverado truck, and a GMC cargo van.
when I started to build 6’ raised bed garden boxes, I needed a truck to deliver them. I looked at the Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma, but I felt they were overpriced. Then I began seeing ads for this new Ford Maverick truck that was a hybrid with an estimated gas mileage of 42mpg! It was just what I needed!! I was very impressed when I found a ā€˜22 hybrid that a customer couldn’t take delivery on, and I bought it! I was so satisfied, that I bought a hybrid Escape for my wife! We love both of them!!
