Been driving for over 20 years. Own and rented a bunch of cars. Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Kia, Lexus, mercedes, BMW, Audi and jeep. Cant really compare the maverick to the luxury brand as they are two to three times the price but I definitely don't feel 2 to 3 times the luxury. Plus when I spent that much money, it drives me nuts that there are some feature missing.

Brands that I really enjoy driving is the Mazda and the Ford. The transmission shifting, steering and brakes is just on point.

I owned or rented several Ford in the past. The transit, fusion, focus and now maverick. Does anyone else have similar experience? Im new to US and all my friends and colleagues say never buy a Ford. I could never understand why.

Well put on the list of never buy ford, never. Then the maverick showed up and I been happy with my ford ever since.

I cannot speak about other ford's besides few friends with bad ones, but on my case everything has been smooth as silk (besides a battery replacement under warranty), just wished I had a lariat one, besides that A+.

In my life I've had Toyota's, Chrysler's, Dodge's, Plymouth's, Chevy's, Pontiac's, Old's, Ford's, Lincoln's and maybe some other brands I've since forgotton.

I've found positives and negatives in all of them. Although I've been left standed and some have broke down more than others, I wouldn't shy away from buying another one of any of those brands if they made a model that fit my needs and budget.

I have/had tried to buy American made vehicles whenever possible, but the reasons I used to justify that choice have long since quit making sense.

I do like my Maverick, and think Ford tapped into an unmet need with this vehicle. (y)

ON EDIT: As much as I am not brand loyal or adverse, oddly my wife is much the opposite. We recently bought her a new car, and I asked her what brand(s) she wanted beforhand. She rattled off a long list of brands she didn't want. Mopar's, including Jeep and Ford's were out. Not even a consideration. The only domestic brand she would consider was Chevy. Not sure how her thinking and mine got so different along the way?

I currently have a 2007 Mustang with 185k miles on her. Still wins first place in car shows. And driven through all 50 states. Best Ford I have owned out of 16 I have had over the years. Also have a 2010 Expedition with 198k. My 1950 flathead is solid as a rock too. I only hope when I finally get my Maverick the trend continues. But I am a little anxious. Never thought I'd have to wait on a recall before receiving a new car.

I have been driving Fords for over 30 years. They have been good to me. I have also owned Hondas and GM stuff over the years and Ford has been better to me than GM stuff.

This is my 4th Ford truck since 1990. Three classic Rangers and now a Mav. 500,000 miles and counting. Up to this point in time I have no complaints with Ford Trucks.

I'm really happy with Ford Part's delivery service. Generally the shipping is free and if I order a part in the afternoon of day 1 it arrives on the morning of day 2. One time the part came from Montana and I am in Virginia. I'm not sure how they do it.

Guess I could be accused of being biased, too.
Have owned nothing but Fords (Parents/Grand Parents/etc...had them).
Have owned 10-ish since 1977. Most had needed a little love. Which I took care of... (relation and in-laws were Mechanics.. ;)) Have never had any major failures with any of them...
Maverick is 1st NEW ONE!

My favorite brand is definitely Mazda. They make incredibly reliable cars that feel really good. I had 3 Miatas and 1 near-supercar 93 RX7 R1.

Ford is my #2 because they build cheap, affordable, mass-market cars with affordable seats and no pretensions, with a no-pretensions price. Actually, I should say not say Ford builds cars, because they mostly abandoned the car market last decade (only the Mustang is left).

I had several Fords. The seat is always perfect. The vehicle is never showy or over the top. Middle America with wheels. My Fords can get dirty and I never feel bad about it. The Blue Collar brand.

Since 1992, I gave up on American cars and purchased a Mazda. I have been a Mazda man ever since until I bought the Ford Maverick in 2021. Mazda, for me, has been extremely reliable!!

Ford trucks for 35+ years. Before that a few odd Dodges, a Mustang early fastback, an AC Bristol before it went to Ford to become the Cobra.

Also owned several brands. My first four cars as a kid were roughly used late-Malaise GMs and Fords, and were about what you'd expect. First car I ever bought new was a Mazda3...and until the Maverick, the only car model I ever bought a second time. Those and the later Fords spoke to me, particularly the Focus, which I was leaning towards until I found the Mazda3. Which was still a Ford Focus so maybe that counts as a Ford? Wanted the larger engine though.

The only other brand I really liked was Mopar. Owned a Jeep Cherokee for a while and it felt similar, with a beefy steering where and just the right "feel." That sucker was weighty though, and Mopar now being Stellantis...and, well, yeah.
