LOTS of changes going on in the 2025 Ecoboost. Even some room under the hood with the relocation of the airbox.

Curious if there is any increase in horsepower or mileage?LOTS of changes going on in the 2025 Ecoboost. Even some room under the hood with the relocation of the airbox.
Tim was saying the HP numbers stay the same and the EPA numbers are already out so apparently no stated changes to those numbers either. I would question that if there is a GPF. It does look like the air intake is a straight shot now.Curious if there is any increase in horsepower or mileage?
No GPF on Mine that was Built in Jan IIRC it won't' be used until around June or July IIRC.Tim was saying the HP numbers stay the same and the EPA numbers are already out so apparently no stated changes to those numbers either. I would question that if there is a GPF. It does look like the air intake is a straight shot now.
My 2025 Maverick does have the Aluminum Valve Cover not Plastic. The Mustang got the update 2 years ago and now it has come to most Eco Boost 4 cylinders. Ranger, Bronco, and Maverick.
I don't know if the Maverick gets it but the Bronco went from a plastic valve cover to an aluminum one on the 2025.
Seems weird the engineers went thru all the trouble and time to make all these changes and no difference in hp or mileage.Tim was saying the HP numbers stay the same and the EPA numbers are already out so apparently no stated changes to those numbers either. They are working around the new engineering challenges of the GPF. There are going to be some significant engineering hurdles it appears. That is a LOT of changes for something that they are trying to imply is a nothing burger.Seems weird the engineers went thru all the trouble and time to make all these changes and no difference in hp or mileage.
I didn't hear them say anything about transmission changes, but it wouldn't surprise me if there aren't revisions to address this. Very strange problem.I just rolled over 90k miles on my ā22. Ever since 55000 we started noticing that transmission fluid was being released from the valve. It was enough that the dealer caught it and suggested a transmission check before the warranty was over. They determined nothing was wrong but the vehicle just over heated. It has now happened 2 more times and each time I brought it back to the dealer. This last time they said they believed it was a design flaw and got the regional engineer involved. They came back saying it shouldnāt do this but didnāt have a fix. Just told me to check my trans fluid after long trips or at each oil change. It had lost a half a quart from the spillage. The shop said that they see it at varying degrees with these trucks. I āwonderā if this may be a contributing factor to some of these design changes.
** I should note that we have never had any check engine lights, thrown any codes, and the dealer said they donāt believe we pushed the car too hard (which we donāt)
Wife has the truck right now...is there a dipstick to check fluid level? Our caravan fluid is lifetime.I didn't hear them say anything about transmission changes, but it wouldn't surprise me if there aren't revisions to address this. Very strange problem.
