We just finished our 29th Annual Shootout. This year we added a few additional classes over our typical Mitsubishi only event. One of the classes was the Ecoboost class.
My son, Zachary drove the truck, he's never been in it before. First day was the autocross, this is a race through cones, like a road course but on a smaller scale. The truck pushes in the corners but he ended up 4th in a field of cars, some highly modded.
Next was the drag races. The worst pass of the weekend was when he had to hit the brakes to keep from breaking out, bracket class, dialed a 13.60, he ran a 13.8 on the brakes.
He then entered the Ecoboost Class, which was a bracket class and ended up making 13 drag passes over the weekend. He made it to the finals, breaking out on a 13.60 dial in, running a [email protected] mph, taking 2nd place and winning $1,000.
The truck ran (7)13.6x passes, (4) 13.7's, the 13.8 on the brakes and the 13.56.
This was all done with our cat back, our filter kit, our front mount intercooler, the new Pro Vented Catch Can and the custom Buschur tune from 5Star on 93 octane fuel.
This truck is a blast, we've got about 13,000 trouble free miles on it, has done really well and I believe holds the quickest/fastest real drag strip time.
The turbo is still in development but is honestly being held up at this point by a cost vs demand for them. We may end up just building a turbo kit for it, header and all.
