Interesting stuff, thanks for posting! Finally puts some science behind not being able to electric mode past the first pip on the tach.

Very thorough presentation about the wonders of the mysterious hybrid power meter!

I’m poking fun, but can verify that everything here is accurate.

Thanks for the terrific overview, and the battery amperage info is really interesting. Good job! I grant you that HP is KW which is Volts X Amps, and is easily calculated. However, IMHO it's not entirely appropriate to use HP in this way since output shaft HP is Torque X Speed. The battery current in either direction is more closely related to Torque, and motor speed varies widely with vehicle speed and whether the ICE is running. e.g. The HF45 eCVT makes it a more complex calculation. I suspect the claimed 192 HP is certainly under specific ideal conditions (max speed ?) that few will ever see. It also seems to me that the HVB is "usually" being charged whenever the ICE is running, so the white section of the dash gage cannot tell you much about this.

Thanks for the explanation. I thought this gauge was representing something like amount of regeneration in green and % of ice engine power needed in the white. Thanks for the clarification.

Would it be possible to replace that wire with a larger gauge wire?

how did you navigate to this screen?
Start with the truck off and door closed. Hold down “OK” on the steering wheel for ~10 seconds while you turn key to “RUN” without actually starting the truck. Let off of the OK button when you see “ET” in green on the dash. This stands for “Engineering Test” mode. From there you can scroll through the menu and see/adjust a few different metrics that are otherwise inaccessible.

If you have a Lariat it is similar - you just press the start button without your foot on the brake.

Hopefully I am explaining this in a way that makes sense.

thanks I am going to have to test this out…

I have been keeping the BM6 app up on the screen in Apple Car Play.
I like how I can see the HV Battery charge and when the engine has shut down - 0 RPM. This way I can switch between EV Coach and This Trip to maximize electric diving and see my progress realtime.

I had no idea this was an option on iOS. Thanks for sharing. I’m sure others will want to have this option as well. Is it this app? Does it require a OBDII plug also?

I learned this morning that about half of the fuel used on my commute is within 3 of 9 miles. Always learning…
