@Silver23 and I were able to figure out how to enable Nav in Motion for SYNC 3.4 on Lariat Mavericks! This removes the Navigation and USB Driver Restrictions that stop you from making changes while driving. (AKA the Nav nanny system)

Below are the two coding changes that need to be made. This will only work on Lariat Mavericks that were sold in the United States and will NOT work for Canadian Lariat Mavericks. I currently am looking into a way to enable Nav in Motion on Canadian Mavericks too!

This also will likely disable auto 911 call.

Factory coding for both of these above is 55. Change them to 57 to enable Nav in Motion.

EDIT- This coding below should work for Canadian Mavericks.

On my older ESCAPE the hack was go behind the radio head unit and cut the VSS Vehicle Speed Sensor wire.

I placed a rocker switch on the wire so could toggle it on and off. On older ESCAPES.

Would this "physical" mod also work?
Or is the system more complex now? (For those who don't like software meddling or want to keep it "stock" most of the time and just flip the bypass switch occasionally.)

I used to use Ford navigation, but when I got my 22 Mav my son showed me how to use navigation on my phone. Started out using google maps, but now use navigation on my iPhone. Works great, I can push button on steering wheel and don’t have to fight trying to get Ford navigation to recognize an address where I want to go. I don’t even use Ford navigation in my wife’s explorer. I’ll never go back to Ford Navigation

I agree I like using CarPlay/android auto much better. Some people don't use it because they don't get good internet service or they will get restrictions when trying to play music from a USB. This will disable those restrictions.

Only problem I have is when I have my iPhone plugged in I can’t access my USB flash drive to play music. So what I do is start music playing from my flash drive then plug iPhone in to the usb-c port.

Using Ford Navigation in the Maverick, how do maps get updated? If Ford coded out access to navigation, updating maps is probably not supported either.
Our 2015 Edge had a SD card slot for updates. . . it's not hard to see why Ford dropped navigation and let third party providers fill in the gap.
We use a Garmin with lifetime maps.

I used to use a Magellan, I’ve still got 2-3 old units laying around one of which has lifetime updates. I started using ford when I bought a new F150 supercrew that had navigation. Liked the voice command so I could change destination without having to pull over to type in new destination. Only problem is that Ford Nav likes a specific destination and that’s like pulling teeth a lot of times. Using iPhone is simple just push button on steering wheel give name of city and you’re on your way. We do a lot of back roads so it’s great for choosing where to go next.
