This post shows how you can disable AdvanceTrac Stability Control on the 2022-2024 Ford Maverick using Forscan! AdvanceTrac Stability Control will cut the throttle, even when traction control is OFF, to prevent your maverick from losing control and spinning out. I tested that this works by doing full throttle donuts in the snow in my AWD ECOBOOST Maverick
. This may work for FWD Ecoboosts or hybrids but I am not sure. Please proceed at your own risk because this coding change will cause errors and DTCs until it is reverted back and cleared!
Go to PSCM (EZ mode)
Change "ABS TYPE" to "1 -ABS ONLY"
WRITE the changes
The original coding is set to "2 - ABS+ESC"
Now that you have changed this coding you will receive 3 different ERRORS while driving.
1. Service AdvanceTrac
2. Pre-Collision Assist Not Available
3. Hill Start Assist Not Available
These errors indicated Pre-Collsion Assist and Hill Start Assist will not work while the ABS Type is set to ABS ONLY. Click "Ok" on the steering wheel controls, if you do not want to see these error messages anymore. The ABS still functions like it should without Stability control!
You will see that the ESC light is illuminated which indicates that the AdvanceTrac Stability Control is not functioning. You may also notice that traction control button is inoperable. To turn traction control OFF, you will need to change your drive mode to DEEP SNOW/SAND MODE. There may be another way to turn traction control off as well, but for whatever reason, the car would not let me use the traction button.
To revert back, simply change the "ABS TYPE" back to "2 - ABS+ESC", WRITE the changes and clear all the DTC codes!
