Minor point of curiosity. During my first week of owning my 2023 Lariat I was looking at something in the wheel well and noticed this plastic clip attached to one of the edges. It will pull out about 8".

My very un-sophisticated wild guesses include 'something left behind accidentally at the factory' to 'it allows you to pull a wire through for some aftermarket modification.'

oh, and by the way; my thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge about trucks in general & Mavericks in particular. I've learned a lot from reading this forum over the last three weeks.

If a week goes by that someone doesn't post a thread with this exact title, for the same thing, I'll be shocked. ;) I think this is the second time this week! :ROFLMAO:

The owners manual is a wonderful thing, it tells you about your vehicle. Seriously.

I wish I was getting a hybrid so I could ask this question when it comes in.

I swear, I tried. I read for hours the first weekend I got home with the truck. And I'm a good reader. But I don't think I got more than 1/3 of the way through it. Now that I've actually driven it a bit, I'll dive back into the manual; context should help a lot.

Also...I promise that I searched the forum several times using various search terms, and couldn't find a trace of it. I knew I was probably encountering an FAQ, and didn't want to embarrass myself (not that I'm not used to doing that... )

Pull it. Just do it. ☠
I think if I'd given it a good pull and that little hatch popped open above my head, I'd likely have fallen right on my face... good practical joke!

Not blaming you, the search function here isn't great. It takes work to find what you want with it, far more than it should.

i always search before posting and there are always 600 threads on the same topic. Next time use google, it works better.

EDIT - I never find anything in the search. I don’t think I was clear.

Yes, you are correct. My guess is because so many people are [finally] getting their 23 Mav's, they haven't been following this forum closely or at all until their trucklet arrived and are now poking around that beautiful piece of steel parked in their driveway.
