Hi All,

I'm in market for a 2025 Maverick Hybrid - AWD. Considering both XL and XLT trims.

However have following questions?

1. Is overall build quality of a XLT better than XL?

2. Does XLT have better/more sound deadening than XL?

Is there any substantiating proof to the above statements in terms of test results or numbers? Or are they just hear say statements?

Appreciate all inputs in advance.

Thanks,

I own a '22 Maverick Hybrid XL and love it.

Family members also own a '23 Maverick Ecoboost XLT FX4 and a '24 Maverick Hybrid XLT.

I do not notice an overall better build quality between them.

However, the '24 XLT has the lux package, and the wrapped steering wheel, heated seats and power driver seat does feel "nicer".

For what it's worth, I was looking to buy an XLT, but they were unobtanium back in December of '21 when I got the XL off a dealer lot (and paid a markup since they were very hard to get).

I knew I wanted to upgrade the Steelie wheels and the I actually like the XLT wheels.

So, for about a base difference of $2500 between the models, I would have gone XLT and still would.

When I shop for my next Maverick, maybe a '26 or '27, bang for the buck, I like the Hybrid XLT AWD 4K tow package and will likely splurge on the lux package for heated seats for my back.

1. There is no build quality difference
2. There is no sound deadening material in the cab of any trim of Maverick. The Lariat has a sound level reducing front window, that's about it.

The differences with the XL and XLT for MY25
1. Annoying XL Flippy key vs XLT Push Button Start
2. XLT Has storage cubby in the bed vs none in XL
3. XLT has more tie downs in the bed from the factory
4. XLT has alloy wheels vs Steel Wheels
5. XLT More options like heated seats, heated steering wheel and heated exterior mirrors

XL, XLT or Lariat. They all run down the same assembly line.
They are assembled by the same employees and robot's.
The Plastics may have a different design or color but they're all the same quality.
As mentioned above posts. The options are different, you may get some minor sound deadening in the higher level trims.

Folks are a little delusional when they say,
'I have a Lariat and therefore it's assembled better and the quality is better.
It's not like they tell their employees,
'Today we're building Lariat's so you better be on your "A" game.'
😂
Bien, amigos, hoy estamos construyendo Lariats. Necesitamos que estén en su mejor momento.

The differences with the XL and XLT for MY25
1. Annoying XL Flippy key vs XLT Push Button Start - Could not agree more. Wish I had the push button.
2. XLT Has storage cubby in the bed vs none in XL - Easy fix for $ 55.00
3. XLT has more tie downs in the bed from the factory - Easy fix for $ 20.00
4. XLT has alloy wheels vs Steel Wheels - Easy fix to customize to your own likes - also fairly inexpensive if you choose to keep the original tires or if you find some take offs from the Escape, Bronco Sport, Volvos etc.
5. XLT More options like heated seats, heated steering wheel and heated exterior mirrors - but these come only with the upgraded package you have to pay for. But you are correct that you have at least the option while in the XL you don't.

OP, some of the above posts might be confusing. The XLT does not come standard with the LUX package. That's significant extra money.

I have the LUX and like those features, but I definitely paid for them. I call the LUX package "the basic features that every other mid-trim vehicle sold on planet Earth has but that Ford cut to meet an tolerable price point".

Actually there are things on my Lariat that are standard on every other vehicle sold on the planet. 😁

Please look up the word option in the dictionary, it means it's something you can choose. ;)

I’d never order a vehicle then have to wait only God knows how long to get it. I bought my 2024 AWD Lariat off the show room floor.
No 4K tow package or sun roof but I got pretty much everything else as far as I can tell.

The Lariats sound deadening windshield is a biggie for me. My cabin is so very quiet.
Someone said there is no extra sound deadening in the Lariat or the XLT over the XL.
So yeah my windshield was a game changer
For me.

The B&O sound is a real step up, especially with the windshield.
Keyless entry, way cool.
Dual zone A/C and AAC super cool,
18 inch wheels look great.
I did pay $700 extra I think it was for the
Hot Pepper Red paint job. Again to me that was worth it.
I feel I got my money's worth, all $36,000 of it.

But I have no doubt I’d have been just as happy with the XLT and the Lariat windshield will fit any Maverick.
Only reason I chose the Lariat is I’ve never had a ‘Loaded’ model of any vehicle.

Op I’d go after the XLT If I were you, If for no other reason a higher resale or trade in value.

You would have been waiting a long time in 2021/2022/2023 if you wanted a Maverick then if you tried to get one off the lot like that. :ROFLMAO: Even in the city I live almost every Maverick is a special order even in 2025.

Be happy you at least got Sync 3 in the '24 Lariat, the ancient system in the '22-'24 XL and XLT is a POS.

What about the rear arm rest cup holders? Those do get used in my XLT. Not on the '25 XL?

I think the Lariat gets a piece of foam in the fender area in front of the door.

XLT vs XL is the ability to get certain options, aluminum wheels, and a cup holder in the rear seat. Maybe a couple of random items.

I choose the XLT because it has the cruise control. There's not a lot different between the two trims, really.
