While I I actually like the pic Shay shared, it doesn’t look black at all. I’m okay with that because I’ve had an actual black interior for 6 years now and it’s a pain in the a$$ to keep clean. I think they should’ve left the Navy as an accent instead of the main color.

You are the first person in history to complain about how hard it is to keep a black interior clean.

Just found this photo from the Ford Dealer Sourcebook, showing a clear view the XL interior with Navy Pier.

I also went with an XL, so anything other than basic colors interior is a plus.

i hope you are right because this could change my mind on ordering. This has been debunked in several videos but I will take your word for it.

I want to see more of these sheet.

.
Why worry about seeing more of these sheets? Just go to your Ford dealer and ask to watch over their shoulder as they build your order on the computer and you will see the equipment on the right-hand side of their computer screen. And don't worry, nothing happens until they click the "submit" button.

I have to agree with this. I remember having plenty of cars with tan or light gray interiors that were nearly impossible to keep the carpet and mats looking nice. Black interior, especially the carpets and mats, is the only way to go. It can actually be kept reasonably clean and new looking. I'll never purchase another car with anything other than black carpets. Now, I've seen some cars that are actually two tone interiors with tan or gray seats and trim but the carpet is still black. That's something I might consider.

The XL is not alone. The problem with the XLT interior is that there are more issues with the B&P tool renders and the media library that have a confusing mix. Between XLT and First Edition, static images and 360 views, you see black/grey or grey/blue door panels. You see the console insert orange or brown, and the shade of the dash around the radio controls goes from a grey to a nearly white color depending on the photo. I hope the media library version is the accurate one with black/grey, and the brown console insert instead of orange, but it remains to be seen...

[EDIT: this image is 'allegedly' what the production XLT/Lariat interior will look like (from an actual vehicle, not renders)]:

Not true, I’ve heard lots of people complain about it. It’s like black paint. It shows every spec of dust, sand, etc.. I’ve had dark gray, light gray and beige interiors and none of them showed it like black. The seats look cleaner longer but not the rest. I learned a long time ago to take the carpet mats out and use Weathertech or Husky floor liners.

It seems Ford cleaned up this issue over the weekend. The interior photos for the XL have been replaced on the customer build app and now reflect Navy Pier background with charcoal/black seating and trims. (compare with first pics I opened this thread with).

They cleaned up the 360 view too, making it consistent and matching (also compare to originals I opened thread with)

Interesting. The accent pieces are far more dark now. I’m guessing either black or a dark gray.

For a base truck interior I think is outstanding just order them for my business, I’m in shock how cheap the base price is and how much you get.

In my research for some pieces Im working on for my YouTube channel and because I have ordered my own Maverick XL, I have noticed some conflicting information on the interior color scheme.

The seat trim is consistently listed as black onyx, but there is a question mark as to the color of much of the background plastic trims. On the consumer website in the build, the still photos (1st below) show a monotone charcoal interior color with copperish accent trims across the dash and door panels. When you go to the 360 view (2nd photo), Navy Pier appears instead as the background color with black on the door panel inserts and what appears to be Navy Pier for the dash accent.

On the media site, there is a video in which the interior designer is quoted as saying the XL interior has a nice combination of Navy Pier and the blacks. She shows a set of samples but even those samples are ambiguous and are hard to distinguish from black or blue.

I am happy for my own truck either way, but when I produce some video here soon on the colors and trims I want to be accurate. I have reached out to Ford Media about it, but am curious if anyone here has any information on what is or is not?

I can’t stand that Navy dash and trim, can not believe there is no black option for XLT and Lariat, won’t buy one with those ugly blues. I feel like I’m the only one who loathes it?

Ok then this is something Ford NEEDS to address. The only reason I chose the XL is for BLACK interior. Not the navy pier sh*t. Hopefully this picture is from an earlier point when they had navy pier for the XL before switching to black….
That looks pretty much the same as my XLT. It may be that the only trim change is the lettering on the plastic pieces in front of the doors.
