That does appear to be the OBDII connector. My suggestion would be to go to motorcraft service and purchase a pass for the wiring diagrams. Use your VIN and pull the connector diagram for your exact vehicle.
Sync 3 requires pins 53/54 to be connected in order to boot. This is likely why you are getting a black screen but can communicate with it over forscan. HS CAN can be tapped into from the OBD port. Pinout is in the OP.

Check this thread out. Use the ABD in that thread as a baseline. That should get CarPlay working along with the radio buttons. Then use the database to find the right lines to modify to add the...
Verify the first 4 blocks in the APIM are correct, then flash the ACM with the code in the OP. If that doesnāt work then itās possible you have a wiring issue (grey connector most likely)
Sounds like an as built issue in the APIM for the volume knob.
I looked into getting that splitter and it unfortunately wonāt work. While our trucks are equipped with an antenna, itās purpose is only for GPS. A more powerful antenna is required for sat radio which the lariats have installed...
The OBD port is the easiest and closest from what I found. The diagram post has the connector pinouts for the OBD connector plug. There are pass though harnesses out there like for the radio that can be used so you donāt have to tap into the existing harness.
The wireless CarPlay issue can be solved through a master reset of the sync system. I had that issue happen and a master reset solved it. It might also solve the XM issues.
We can likely get the hybrid screens to show but I do not know if they will function.
What issues are you still having with sync 4?
Blue highlights on the connector diagrams are for sync 3. You will be tapping into the OBD port for those connections.
Nice! The antenna issue could be caused by the antenna itself or a loose connection.
You will have a few DTCs if you didnāt clear anything after you completed the programming. If any come back there likely will need to be small tweaks to the code based off of your vehicle options.
Male ends go to the ACM while female ends go to the harness. So remove from ACM would be removing from the male connector and adding to ACM would be adding to male connector.
So you will be cutting and removing a few pins. The grey connector harness will be cut and all wires removed except for the 8 that are required. There will also be a few pins to remove from the black T harness. Again take a look at the wiring diagrams and pinouts for more info. I cut, stripped...
Also to update everyone...
Looks like Forscan got an official update that now supports Sync 4 in the Maverick! You should be able to download it directly from the site to support programming of a Sync 4 swap.
So ACM connector 2 is the grey ACM connector (That you will receive as the ANC bypass harness). The pinouts in post #2 will show you where everything will go (look for the green color coding for ACM 2).
Interesting that they have removed the DIY option. Go with the T harness option. With that you should just be able to connect the two speaker outputs together.
