“Best” Exterior/Interior Color Combinations

Maverick is deliberately designed to be trendy and different, and it very much appeals to younger (and much older) fans of mid-century modern decor. I'm guessing Maverick isn't the truck for you.

WOW, pretty bold suggestion JUST because I don't like their crappy seat colors. I guess I'll need to run all of my choices by you to ensure I'm approved to buy it.

Thanks for the professional vision diagnosis. I guess you should ask me how I know the colors. It couldn't possibly be because I know ugly when I SEE it. Besides, I don't have to see the colors to know what I like and don't like. As for how I know the colors is because there have been numerous people TELL ME and WRITE in this forum what the colors are.

The brown Lariat interior works well with Cyber Orange from what I've seen in video. It'd be nice if the Lariat had the orange accent trim, maybe I'll have to find someone to swap with down the road.

I dunno, my 20 year old daughter thinks all of the interior color options are atrocious with the Lariat being both ugly and boring, lol. Outside of this forum, I haven't talked to anyone, young/old/otherwise that actually likes these interior color choices. Plenty of us (myself included) that still respect Ford for taking a a big swing (even if they missed) but it doesn't change the fact that a huge chunk of folks are gonna hate these choices.

I actually really dig the exterior color choices though. Choosing between A51 and Cactus WAS TOUGH!

My daughter (Artist by trade) talked me out of the CG. Said I would be over it in a couple of years. I went with A51 instead xlt, lux hybrid.

I just want that email from Mr. Ford!

I know what I think is the worst color on all trim levels Cactus Grey (Green). I think it will be the worst coordination with interiors. Sorry, just my opinion, don't think it's going to age well.

Here's my list even though I'm probably going to order a combo that's not in my pairings below:


Oxford White, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Shadow Black all jive the best with XL interior.

Velocity Blue and Cyber Orange work well with XLT interior.

Hot Pepper Red, Rapid Red, Alto Blue are my favorites with Lariat interior.

Area 51 and Cactus are funky enough to work with all interiors.


I'm fairly set on the Carbonized Gray in XLT. I think the pre-production interiors appeared much brighter "blue" than some of the recent photos I've seen of the Mavericks that are making the rounds for training. The Navy Pier and Medium Dark slate are looking more toned down and "gray" in real life which I'm good with!

All trim levels use Navy Pier as the trim color. The difference between trim levels is seat material and accents.

I don’t care about being color coordinated, but my Hot Pepper Red ought to go good with my XLT interior. Blue and red are complimentary colors (just ask Superman), and the orange tones in the paint should look good with the orange accents.

That portion is not Navy Pier, that's Medium Dark Slate. Which yes, Medium Dark Slate trim is shared between all three variants.

The medium dark slate is the only commonality mentioned in all of Ford's published literature.

Those are the seat colors. All hard plastic is navy blue across all trims.

XLT Trim with Carbonized Grey Metallic exterior and the interior trim of Blue/Grey/White and Orange accents! Hands down - All other combos are "Want-To-Be's"
