A picture is worth a thousand words... A video does an even better job of explaining...
Gary,
Every point that anybody has brought up about not buying the truck, i.e.. that it wasn't a good deal or the possibility of problems, has been countered.
My personal opinion is.
As stated in Pam's first post. It's a color Area 51 and it's A First Edition if it means anything.
Was her 2022 that was totaled the same?

The actual buyback date of the truck was January of 2025.

Like I said in earlier post.
The truck has been sold. The dealer just doesn't know about it yet.
It was a non 1st edition Cactus Grey Lariat. I wanted Area 51 but, it was available and a good deal, at the time. I'm open to a 2023 or 2024.

I'm only married to the Lariat package and, prefer the Area 51 Blue but, I would also go with Black or the Cactus Grey again. I'd settle for white, don't really like the bright reds or blues... There is a good buy one state over but, it's the obnoxious orange.

There is a higher mileage 22 Area 51 but it's at a "car mart" 500 miles away, is on the cusp of 60k and needs new tires.

I agree with you on the orange.🤣
I really like the Space White. In the sunlight it looks like a light gray. I prefer it over appliance white.

Because you said it in an earlier post just means you haven't changed your opinion.
You could be right, or not.
My personal opinion.
It doesn't sound that way to me, especially if the dealer keeps his price where it is.
The OP even said that she would only be interested with a price reduction.
I'm not so sure the dealer will do that. They may be waiting for an unsuspecting buyer.
They already appear to be violating the law as the lemon title is not disclosed as is required.

It's a good looking, significantly overpriced vehicle being illegally marketed, with a title that will always affect it's resale and insurance value. It will shortly be out of warranty and is ineligible for an extended warranty.
As was pointed out, for a small percentage difference in price, the OP could have a new vehicle.

For the OP's sake, I hope she finds something better, but it's her dime, not mine, nor would it be.
She still seems to be looking, and I think that's a good idea.

I think she'll buy it.
Meh. I'm about to have a nice cash windfall. I'm not going to nitpick beans. Won't pay too much but, will have to wait a couple of weeks. Looking at 23, 24, 25 model years. Not sure I want to squeeze the lemon waiting for trade-ins from anyone upgrading to a 26. I'll need a vehicle before October for sure.

Anything special or different on the newer models, outside of wireless android auto?

It's been on the lot for 6 months. It will probably be there for few more weeks.😉
Like a dog with a troubled past. Most are unwilling to tackle it.

Good Luck @PamelaHaley

Lol. The OASIS report shows it's actually been on 2 lots for 6 months each and hasn't had any significant drive time since the last fix so, they can't confidently call it good.

Sitting on a lot for a year, waiting on microchips is part of what caused a ton the issues with the earlier models.

I've already bought one good car that had sat for 2 years due to unusual life circumstance.

No warranty will cover the amount of rubber and plastic that will need replaced. I'm definitely moving on 😊

No one has test driven it because the salesperson was afraid to go along.

One of the buy back lemons from the forum would go dead while driving. No power steering, no power brakes, dead. Potentially lethal at highway speeds. Dealer tried to fix multiple times of course. Had to try before lemon/buyback. Could not fix. Forum member felt bad that another person might actually drive it someday:(

Other buyback lurched dangerously while stopped at traffic lights. Same action - dealer tried to fix multiple times but no success.

Both no longer Maverick forum members I’m guessing. Problems like theirs are very rare. Unless you buy one of their trucks. In that case a problem is guaranteed.
